Renji's P.O.V.

We heard a growl as a humongous wild white dog materializes beside Benihime,
"Who dares insult my Benihime?" Tōga rumbles angrily.
*Oh crap,* I thought to myself.
Ichigo, Kisuke, and I have seen the evil smirk playing on Lioness's bow-like lips and we are probably thinking all the same thing,
"Yumichika, you're fucked."
I just shook my head at how stupid Yumichika can be at times. Ikkaku just stared at his best friend for insulting Benihime the way he did and left the underground training area shaking his head in disapproval.
Granted, Benihime didn't like The Seireitei and what it had done to her grandfather's family, but the girl has shown nothing but loyalty and lend aid whenever she could. But to say, "She'll betray us like Tosen because she's blind and bipolar." was an insult and a slap to the Lioness's face.
To say the least, Tōga used Yumichika as his favorite chew toy or ball was exactly what happened. I could see the same evil smirk on Lioness's heart-shaped face as she pets Tōga's humongous head fondly. I smiled seeing the love and loyalty between the two.
I know Ichigo is jealous of Yuna Akira I did ask him once about it after our patrol and we watched the teme walk Lioness home every time he picked her up for a date. His response,
"I just have this feeling the teme is going to hurt Lioness somehow so yes, I am worried about her because Lioness's last relationship ended with Uryū and Ryūken driving the bastard out of Karakura Town. You seen how tore up Lioness was and I don't want to see her go through that once again. I'll beat this loser up if he hurts her."
I must say this because I share my love's feelings as to where Akira is concerned. I did pull Akira on the side a few times and warned him that if he hurts Lioness. He'll wish it was us and not Kisuke or Kensei or Ryūken beats the living crap out of him. The loser seems to understand. All Ichigo and I can do is watch Lioness and pray this teme doesn't hurt her.
" Um, Renji, Ichigo, you want to help me out a bit here?" Lioness said softly breaking into my thoughts.
I looked up to see Lioness trying to carry an unconscience Yumichika up the ladder. I didn't see Kisuke around sly bastard always leaving us alone with Lioness whenever possible. I honestly think Kisuke disapproves of the teme and rather his daughter be with us...subtle Kisuke real subtle.
Ichigo wordlessly took Yumichika from Lioness smiling. Lioness may let Tōga out on someone's ass for a smackdown doesn't mean she's heartless. I learned first-hand if you mess with Lioness, you had to watch out from Tōga's fangs.
I followed them both back upstairs. I watch as Lioness administered first-aid to Yumichika. I can solely guess who had taught her this. Ikkaku only watches with a leer as Isshin walks in. Wordlessly, Isshin took over for Lioness by waving her off.
I watched as Lioness hugs her father from behind and whispers in his ear something. Although, Ichigo and I saw Kisuke nod his head slowly and Lioness kissed his cheek. We saw the look of disapproval and his expression spoke volumes as Lioness walked out the Shoten.
"Damnit Kisuke, if you don't like the bastard, why don't you speak up?" Ichigo snapped.
Kisuke looks over at Ichigo with a leveled glare and sighed in defeat.
"I don't say anything because Benny is a grown-ass woman and she won't listen if I did say something. I strongly believe in when it comes to the matters of the heart I shouldn't intervene," Kisuke stated, " For example, when you and Renji first got together, your father didn't approve of Renji either, but Isshin changed his mind when he saw how much Renji loved you and Renji would do anything to make you happy."
" In other words son, no matter how much we disapproval of our children's other halves. We don't have any right to interfere. Now if the bastard is abusing Benihime, you can bet your sweet ass Kisuke would kill the bastard." Isshin hummed sadly.
Ichigo sighs, but lets the matter drop.
Two hours went by, Lioness came walking in and her expression unreadable as one Yuna Akira came walking in yelling at Lioness which brought Ichigo, Ikkaku, Kisuke, Yumichika, and me out of the kitchen. We just stood there watching as the two have it out.
Apparently, Akira accused Lioness of sleeping with me, Ichigo, Ikkaku, and Yumichika which caused Lioness to defend herself and us. Finally, Akira looks at me and points an accusing finger at me,
"I know you love Benihime- he didn't finish that sentence because Lioness bent his finger and I heard it snap as she growls in Akira's face,
"Get the fuck out of my father's shop and leave my friends alone, you prick. I'll give you a five-second head start before I set Nisshoku, Gesshoku, and my father on you."
I never have seen a human run that fast before nor had I seen Lioness this angry before. Oh, and she gave her father a nod as she yelled,
"Babies, sic'em"
Kisuke, Ikkaku, and Yumichika and her two dogs took off running after the prick.
Lioness shrugs and walks into the study and slams the door.
Ichigo and I look at each other and we just went into the kitchen and waited for Lioness or the others to come back.
It was sunset, Kisuke, Ikkaku, Yumichika, and the dogs had returned to the shoten as Lioness was sitting at the table eating miso pork ramen with Tonkatsu, and bluefin tuna Sashimi and drinking umeshu. Ichigo and I were watching her closely. Jinta and Ururu took their meal in their room while Tessai watched Lioness from the stairs.
Lioness started giggling as she crawls into Ichigo's lap, I watch smiling as she touched Ichigo's hair softly. Ichigo only smiles and kisses her forehead. I watch as Lioness snuggles and yawns.
"Me drunk, Ichi and sorry if this makes you uneasy or Renji gets mad, but I feel safe around you and Renji because you both *hiccups* are always *hiccups* there and I know you both always follow me on my dates with that dummy head *hiccups*. thank you." a moment later Lioness is snoring.
I watch as Ichigo waves off Kisuke who would have lifted up his daughter and take her to her old room. He just held her gently with a soft expression. I knew Ichigo had feelings for Lioness as I did. We just had to wait for now.
Later that night, Ichigo carried Lioness home with me following along with Nisshoku, Gesshoku, and Yuki. I pulled the blankets down as Nisshoku and Gesshoku jumped on the king size bed with Yuki perched on the headboard. I covered her up with the blankets. Ichigo and I had decided to stay the night.
We made love of course and tried to keep quiet lest Lioness hears us and come out not that I would mind, but I know Ichigo would be horrified and Lioness would blush.
*Lioness, we love you!* were my last thoughts as I fell asleep with Ichigo in my arms.
