Chapter 7: Unexpected Help Arrives
The next day the sun was shinning bright and appeared to be quite peaceful. Everyone except Urahara himself was awake. Grimmjow was lazing around, probably bored because either one, Ichigo is not here to pick a fight with or two, he has no one to fight with. Gin was quietly sitting down enjoying some tea and breakfast that Tessai had made. Ururu and Jinta were busy doing their daily chores. And Rukia sat across the table from Gin, quietly drawing or writing in her sketch book. Suddenly a knock came to the door, everyone stopped what they were doing. Even Grimmjow sat up and looked over in the door's direction. The silver haired shinigami got up and went to go politely answer it. "My, my." He cooed softly. "What brings ya two here?" A small smile graced his face.
Both Orihime and Chad stepped inside once Gin let them in. "Um... We came to talk to you about the boy you were looking for the other day. Kurosaki Ichigo I believe.." Chad stood there quietly, giving a slight nod. "We also want to help you all look for him.."
A derisive snort came from the ex-Espada. "Well look-it here. The big guy and the princess finally got interested in that Kurosaki brat.." He stood up, his arms across his chest with a slight frown, a hint of annoyance on his face. "Ya still piss me off for forgetting. After all, he saved yer sorry ass from Aizen!" A snarl was sounded as he shouted at Orihime.
She winced and shuddered from the ex-Espada's snarl and shouting. Tears brimmed her eyes as she stared down at the tatami floor of the shop. Immense guilt was all she could feel at the moment. "I-I'm so sorry.." Her hands covered her face as she quietly sobbed. "P-Please allow me to make it up to you all by helping you look for him.."
Rukia sighed before quietly setting down her sketch pad. "Oi, Grimmjow. I know exactly how you feel about everyone forgetting about him..." She approached him from behind before pulling him off to the side. "At times like these we must no loose our cool and work together. That is if we do want him back." As she spoke this, her eyes were stern and determined.
"Kuchiki-san is right, Grimmjow." Urahara butted in as he entered inside the main room. He had finally woken up. Most likely due to Grimmjow's shouting and Orihime's crying. He put a gentle hand on her shoulder to calm her down. "Inoue-san, we accept your offer to help us and are ever grateful." He gave her a warming smile as he spoke. "So please, no more tear shedding."
Orihime calmed down and gave a nod. "Thank you, Mr.-. . .?" He quickly answered for her. "Kisuke Urahara." She smiled brightly with a nod. "Thank you, Urahara-san." He raised a hand up and shook his head. "I should be thanking you, Inoue-san. We could use all the help we can get."
"So what do we do now, Urahara-san?" Chad asked a bit curiously. "We're leaving at dusk to search for Kurosaki-kun." Was his reply with a simple smile. "We're gonna prepare now and gather our strength." A slight nod came from the tall teen. His expression stood the same. "I may not know or remember this Ichigo but... I can't just sit aside and not help or protect him.."
Outside of the Kurosaki home appeared Suguru Asahi and in his arms he held the injured Ichigo Kurosaki. Little life was in the teen's eyes. Suguru's eyes raked over the boy's slowly, observing every detail of him. A small smirk formed as he continued to eye his prey. His eyes darkened when they looked over all the cuts on the orange haired teen's body. His clothes torn in few places due to those wires that had bind him for the last few days. Or was it hours? Not like Ichigo could keep count of how long he has been captured and bind. "Why'd you bring me here..?" Even if his body was weakened for the time, he had enough strength in him to be demanding.
Suguru cackled darkly as he stared down into those demanding brown eyes of his captive. "I thought you might be in need for some fresh air." He held the boy with one arm while the free hand caresses the side of the orange haired teen's face. Ichigo scowled fiercely, his hand knocking away Suguru's. "Quit fucking with me already!" A deep and dark laugh came from the ex-shinigami. His eyes lit up with a playful look in them. But something about his eyes showed a hint of danger in them though. Not that it ever bother the substitute shinigami though, he's been through worse. He even literally went to Hell once. Whatever danger came his way, he'd be ready for it one way or another. "That feisty attitude of yours is. . .very appealing." His slowly trailed gently down from his cheek down to his chest. The ex-shinigami's hand ever so slightly ghosting over it in a caressing manner. "You always seem to amuse me one way or the other. Whether you're shouting demands at me. Or squirming in my grasp. Or even showing resistance."
"I'll ask again.. Why the fuck did you bring me here?!" Ichigo batted the hand away from his chest and sneered up at his captor. The ex-shinigami's smirk faded and no reply was heard. Instead, the one arm that was holding the orange haired teen slipped out from him and had the boy dropped flat on the ground. His back and rear hitting first. A sharp yelp was sounded as the pain shot through his entire body. "Just wait and see. I don't plan on staying with you here too long."
The substitute shinigami lied there on his back, his head facing his home. His eyes widened in shock as he watched who came from inside the home. Out came his mother along with his two sisters. He could only guess that his father was already at work. His chest ached as he saw them smile and laugh amongst themselves. They looked so happy together, and strangely he felt extremely guilty. His eyes became half-lidded as he sighed softly. And that feeling he once had long ago when he first became a shinigami came rushing back. The feeling of it being his fault that he was the one who took away his sisters' mom. The sadness overwhelmed him and the pain in his chest hurt more. "So you see now.." Began Suguru with an indifferent look upon his face. His voice unusually monotone. "Life seems to be better without you. Taking you out of the picture kept your beloved mother alive. And no one appears to miss you."
Ichigo's eyes closed and a small smile appeared on his face. The pain he felt in his chest lightened a bit. "In a way you may be right. At least the part about my mother but..." He paused a moment. He muster up a bit more strength. Enough to prop himself up onto his elbows. His eyes opened and show signs of hope and determination. "You won't shake or break me this easily. I don't know how but... I believe there's at least one person out there who will remember and throw a wrench into your plans." This soured the ex-shinigami's mood immensely. He didn't like the fact that the substitute shinigami wasn't suffering. He hated the look in his eyes. And he absolutely hated the fact the boy challenged him. "Don't get too cocky, kid..."
A playful smirk graced Ichigo's face. "Your plan will backfire on you. I have a feeling it will." The life returned back into those brown eyes of his. And the flame in them was showing brightly. Suguru swiftly grabbed the boy by his collar, holding him so close that their faces were just centimeters apart. "Whatever helps you sleep at night, boy.." The ex-shinigami's free hand balled into a tight fist and knocked the wind out of the orange haired teen. His body slumped as he fell unconscious. Suguru caught him with hand and hauled the boy's body over his shoulder. "I think we over stayed our welcome.." With that, he took off before anyone could show up.
Unlucky for him though, someone had been watching the entire time off in the distance and hiding behind a few trees. A pair of slender fingers pushed the glasses up on the bridge of his nose. The whole time Uryuu Ishida had quietly been standing by and spying the whole time. "I see now..." He sneered lightly as he watched the suspicious shinigami make off with boy with bright orange hair. "I wonder... Could that boy be who that Arrancar and other shinigami were looking for..?" Now that his suspicions were correct. He should find those two and tell them what he heard and saw from his investigation. And even though he wasn't caught yet, he was pretty sure the other shinigami could sense his reiatsu. He quickly took off as the sun began to set. The reiatsu of the Arrancar and shinigami was not too far ahead. Hopefully this information should help a little. There was no time to waste now.
