“They should be arriving soon, right?” Renji asked. One hand stroked over Zabimaru’s hilt, his eyes watching the dried up water-bed. “And are ya really sure that Kurotsuchi-taicho and Nemu-fukutaichio will be able ta put the water back when this is all said and done?”
“Yes, Abarai. Do stop worrying about it,” Byakuya said as Ulquiorra rumbled lightly next to him. The three knew that everyone in headquarters were watching them with the scattered cameras, waiting to sweep in after the fight was finished.
“Uluqiorra-san, are you sure you’re gonna be able to handle them and their powers without issue?” Renji asked. His brows furrowed and lips thinned as he looked around Byakuya to the Espada.
“When a hollow forms, they tend to lose a lot of what makes them human during their transformation, including quite a bit of their bodily fluids,” Ulquiorra explained. He flicked his wrist, looking at them. “When we become powerful enough, we have just enough to keep our blood flowing but not quite enough to be dangerous for me since it is still spread so thin through my body.”
“Which is the reason why you are the prime fighter against two fighters who control water particles,” Byakuya said. Ulquiorra nodded. “They will have a very hard time trying to defeat you while we set up the rest of the trap.”
“I almost feel bad for hurtin’ children. Almost,” Renji muttered. He rubbed at the back of his head with one big hand, making his ponytail bob with the motion. “I know, mentally, that they’re as old, if not older, than us, but they still look like kids.”
“You are a good man who does not wish to hurt a child or have one hurt. No one wishes for them to end up hurt, which is what the two Bounts, Ho and Ban, have used to their advantage. At least from what Aizen-sama has told us from his research,” Ulquiorra said.
“And who woulda thought that fucking Seireitei knew all about them before now, but that it was suppressed so hard by the Fourty-Six in such a way?” Renji snorted bitterly. “If the fucking archives weren’t in a damn mess, we coulda learned more about them before this shit happened.”
“This is why we have had the new Forty-Six disbanded and Unohana-sou-taicho was chosen to take over when Yamamoto-san stepped down,” Byakuya stated. “the corruption went much further than we thought, and it was starting to threaten the lives of every soul in all of the worlds.”
“I always wondered why Aizen-sama would often complain about that particular group,” Ulquiorra stated as the portal that would deliver Ho and Ban opened. He shifted on his feet. “Let us finish this quickly, shall we?” he asked. The two small figures looked nearly like mirror images of each other, both having sweet, almost innocent faces that were surrounded by brown hair and with wide brown eyes. It was the hats and the hairstyles that showed just who was who.
As proven by their pictures, Ho kept his hair short that he covered with a red baseball cap that had been pulled lowish over his eyes. Ban’s hair was kept longer than his twins and covered by a white hat that he wore cocked to the side.
“Yeah, let’s do that,” Renji drawled. He and Byakuya slipped further into the shadows that covered them so that they could prepare for their parts of the trap. Ulquiorra stepped out onto the river-bed, one hand coming to rest on Murcielago’s hilt as he stared at them. The twins spun around to stare at him, hiding their surprise under glares, holding hands, their other hands reaching for their water bottles.
“Do you think that…?” Ho asked, trailing off as he squeezed Ban’s hand.
“It’s not quite…” Ban trailed off as he looked over too his brother.
“Possible. But perhaps,” Ho finished. He frowned thoughtfully. Ulquiorra stared as he waited for them to finish whatever they were talking about.
“Ho,” Ban sharply reprimanded his twin, his eyes flicking over Ulquiorra before they narrowed. “Who are you? You are not a Shinigami, not with that thing upon your head. It looks like bone.”
“That would be right,” Ulquiorra stated as he moved further along the bed, carefully keeping the two within his eyeline. “I am not what you would call a Shinigami. I am an Arrancar. An Espada. My name is Cifer Ulquiorra and I am the Fourth in Aizen-sama’s army. You two have come to the Seireitei due to a woman’s jealousy and madness which drove her to help a man who is well known to use anyone useful to his plans. Two of your fellow Bounts have already been dealt with, their bodies turned to dust when they lost their power. I am here to stop you personally.”
“You’re lying,” Ho denied. Ulquiorra smirked ever so slightly as he carefully gripped the hilt of Murcielago to withdraw it from the sheath, holding the sword at a slight angle against his side.
“Now, tell me, why would I lie? I have none to lie, little twins,” he replied. “Most especially to those who are enemies and invaders.” The twins narrowed their eyes, flicking the water tops off and calling their Dolls, the water top moving to float in the head of the water made creatures.
Ho smirked as he shifted closer to his brother. “We would like you to meet Guhl…” One of the Dolls moved fluidly at being called.
“And Gunther. Our Dolls,” Ban finished as the other Doll started to mirror its partner’s movements.
“We know that you control water and to quite a degree that it would have been bad for this bed to be wet,” Ulquiorra drawled. He felt some smugness deep in his chest at the way the two stiffened. “The Bounts, at one time, had been watched, but due to the last council and the sou-taicho, the information was hidden. You and yours have proven yourselves dangerous to not only Soul Society and the Seireitei, but also to Los Noches and Hueco Mundo.”
“You will not be allowed to stop us from doing our job in this plan,” Ho stated, reaching up to fix his red hair. He felt rather uncomfortable with the way Ulquiorra’s lips were pulling into an amused smile.
“Oh, but I shall,” Ulquiorra stated, his voice still as deadpanned as it had been at the start. “I shall take you down, not even going above my resurreccion, if that,” he said. He brought up the hand not holding his sword, two fingers pointed out as a red glow started around the tips. Taking careful aim, he fired off a cero, sliding just slightly on the ground as he watched as it sped through the water that made up the dolls and landed behind Ho and Ban, the backlash of power blowing the hats off of their hats.
The twins turned to look at the mark on the ground and the small crater, scowling as they turned back, the two dolls combining into one giant creature, shooting out several tentacles of water. Ulquiorra darted out of the way, eyes carefully watching, mind calculating as he dodged and wove around the attacks. He and his Shinigami backup didn’t want to kill the two young Bounts, knowing their stories, but if they did not surrender, they would have no choice but to actually destroy their Dolls.
“Would you hold still?” Ban muttered as Ho scowled at Ulquiorra, splitting off Guhl and sending him after Ulquiorra. Ban used Gunther to hunt for any possible liquid in the dried-out lakebed, hoping that they had missed something. Ulquiorra stopped himself from rolling his eyes as he sent a low powered cero at them again, slashing a tentacle that got too close to him from Guhl before sonidoing out of the way of the debris that were tossed up by the cero landing.
The call of ‘Chire’ reached Ulquiorra’s ears, Byakuya releasing his zanpakuto, sakura colored blossoms surrounding Guhls and Gunther’s head, ready to attack where the caps floated.
“This is your one and only chance: Give. Up,” Ulquiorra called out. He was unsurprised when the dolls tried to shift out from under and through the blades. The pink petals moved to keep the tops in place, forcing the tops towards the serrated blade of Zabimaru as it twisted and bounced off the ground and trees. It slashed through Gunther’s head, destroying the small target, causing the water of the Doll to fall to the ground with a splash.
Ban cried out, wincing as the connection to his Doll shattered with the destruction of the bottle cap. “Gunther!”
“Well that was unexpected,” Renji muttered as he pulled his zanpakuto back to him. “But good for us.” Byakuya smirked lightly next to him.
“We did give you that chance to surrender to us,” Ulquiorra stated, rubbing at a cut that was starting to heal from where Guhl had tagged him with a lucky hit. Guhl was easily destroyed while Ho was distracted by the pain of his brother’s connection being severed, Senbonsakura’s blades encasing the cap and destroying it.
“What happened there?” Renji asked as the twin fell to their knees. He eyed the slice ragged cut in Ulquiorra’s top as his fingers moved so that he could look at it.
“I wasn’t quite fast enough to dodge an attack from one of the dolls,” he replied, shrugging before his ribs protested at him moving. “I was also unfortunate enough to get a tentacle across my ribs to.”
“So, we can see with the way that you are now moving,” Ise said as she landed, her beads clinking together as several second divisioners took the twins away from the lake-bed. It seemed as if the twins were young enough to not turn to dust but they would most likely die in time. Holding up a lightly glowing hand, she stopped the bleeding before she allowed one of her people to wipe away the blood and make sure the wound was healed. “Come back to the Forth and let us check on your ribs.”
“I will head for the Forth, but they are already healing,” Ulquiorra said as Byakuaya walked towards them.
“Do not allow Ichigo to make you forget about writing your report,” the noble stated, watching as Ichigo dropped down near them, jogging over.
“I will have your report done and turned in by no later than tomorrow,” Ulquiorra promised as he moved to greet Ichigo with a soft smile. The two headed to the fourth, followed by heading back to Rangiku’s home to indulge in some post-battle sex to wear off their adrenaline. Leaving Ichigo in bed to doze off their time together, he sat at the desk and wrote out his report, making sure that the information was concise but detailed.
Once finished, he placed it to the side and returned to their shared bed, waking her up once more with his tongue and hands, making her fall over the edge with soft shudders and sweet sounds before she woke fully.
