A/N: Five months, maybe more since the last update... things just got really fucked up. First college classes getting ridiculous and then my computer had to be fixed, then on its way back to me, a certain shipping company somehow broke a piece of the hard drive off and I had to send it back. Took them almost over a month just to get the part ordered in. A lot of wasted time and spent money. And during that time, I've just gone through this massive hate cycle where I despise all my written work, like this story, and some original pieces as well. Luckily I'm out of that now though, so hopefully I can start making some head way to somewhere... although I've lost a lot of details on this story (re-reading the chapters as we speak though.) And then finally get things back together... and the site changed on me, so that took thirty more minutes to figure out. Either way, here's... something.

"Oh Gods, I've never been so glad to see him leave."
Matsumoto chuckled at the remark as she watched her glasses-wearing friend collapse easily on her bed. After watching the fun filled ride Captain Shunsui took her on, it was no doubt that she was feeling a little queasy over the whole matter; hell, she probably would've puked by the end of it and would've made sure to do so on him as pay back. Setting aside some minor redecorating, she walked over to where the other Lieutenant was facedown on her bed. "Well, give him a ten minute break and he'll probably be back soon enough."
A long, muffled groan escaped her as she pushed herself away from the freshly rolled out bed sheet. One hand moved her glasses back into their rightful place as she looked over to the Tenth Lieutenant. "If he comes back here, I'm hiding."
"Ha ha, you know he only means well." Matsumoto assured as she walked over to the woman and took a seat on the edge of the mattress; one hand going to rest on her back. "I mean, he just absolutely adores you, he did so before this whole matter; this is just the driving nail of it, I mean can you even imagine how he's going to be when the baby comes along?"
Because that was definitely a topic she wanted to talk about. Sighing once more, Nanao rubbed at one temple and tried not to let herself get all too focused on that kind of answer. It would only lead into a spiraling mess of complications and weaknesses. "You wanna know something really, really odd about that man? I mean... this doesn't even touch on the amount of oddness he had before. But he actually came up with a name for this potential child. I don't think he really cares about what gender it is, he just wants there to be a name and I just... it's just so odd."
"Why do you say that?"
"I mean, you know... because technically the child isn't his and yet he seems to be taking the full responsibility for it." Nanao started; finding the words somewhat difficult to say out loud. How much longer was she going to play this little game of 'Liar, Liar?' Pushing herself onto her arms, she carefully rolled over to rest on her back now. "I mean, what kind of name is Honoka?"
"Sounds like a name he chose for you." Matsumoto chuckled. "It probably gives him a part to play and a sense of being useful; or at least a sense of being helpful to you. He's been gone a majority of this time, so he's probably wanting to make up for it in his own special way. And who knows, maybe the name will stick."
"And maybe we'll get the chance to give the child a normal life instead of raising it to be in some kind of horrific experiment like it was some kind of... creature." she remarked with a sense of sharp sarcasm.
"Hey, let's just not... get that far ahead of ourselves, alright?" the Tenth Lieutenant replied with an equal amount of sharpness. "Why don't we just worry about day by day kind of things instead of rushing into the whole ending result mess?"
No doubt everyone was wanting to go at each other's throats at the given moment. It was probably a mix of hormones, unbalanced chemicals, the overwhelming feeling of discomfort in this new place and just... overall hatred of the given situation. She didn't know much about everyone else, but personally it felt like they were suddenly being treated as second-class citizens; they pretty much forfeit all rights in this situation... Hell, they couldn't even walk out of their room without someone questioning their motives. And now with this new location only seemed to further their isolation and continued to cut away at their rights. She guessed they should've at least been grateful that Captain Unohana signed on or that Captain Mayuri had to take a sudden leave of absence... one that everyone hoped was permanent. Still, there were a list of matters now that she regretted even agreeing to at this point.
"Hey, what are you two up to?"
Matsumoto glanced up at the remark and watched as yet another pair stopped by the open doorway. She tried to toss aside the matter from before and ushered the other two inside. "I was just making fun of Nanao and how Captain Shunsui is dotting over her. What are you two doing? Ruining Lieutenant Chojiro's report, I see."
"I think I'm making it better." Hinamori defended as she tugged on the taller man's arm for a brief moment. "Be sure to put down that Lieutenant Matsumoto is being a little edgy today."
"I am not!"
He chuckled briefly and tapped his pencil lightly against the mess of folders in hand. "I'll see what I can do about making a... note of it, but for now why don't you keep with Matsumoto and Nanao? I still have a few more rounds to make and I don't want you to get exhausted." he noticed how she frowned at the offer and displayed a greater sense of dislike for it; he would've preferred to stay with her, but he knew that combined with the sickness from this morning, she would need her rest. "I assure you, I'll visit before I make my departure. From the looks of it, I won't be able to report back before nightfall anyways so I might as well take my time and finish what I have."
She really didn't want to leave his side right now but... he did have a report to finish for Captain Yamamoto and she should try to let him get back to that. Not to mention, she was getting a little tired of walking around, although it had helped to settle her stomach some. At least she didn't feel like puking her stomach out all over the place. "Will you be here tomorrow then?"
There was a brief pause at her question as he tried to manage an answer before he gave into a faint nod. He would ensure that her request was taken care of first, regardless if it turned out to annoy the Espada instead; she took priority over all others after all. "I was asked to look out for everyone's well-being and in order to ensure that is correct, I believe I'll have to make frequent visits back. I can't assure you that they'll be consistent or every day for that matter, but... because of your request, I'll be sure to be here tomorrow."
"Well, I guess that's good enough for now." Hinamori remarked, as she softly released the grip she had on his sleeve. She supposed with the promise of a visit before he left and an all-day affair tomorrow... that was probably about as good as it was going to get; she supposed she should try and stop taking some things for granted. She gave a soft push forward as she moved to take another step in through the open doorway. "Just go on and finish your report, I wouldn't want you to be late heading back to Captain Yamamoto after all."
In the presence of others, she decided not to give into a more intimate departure and watched as he carried on his way down the rest of the corridor. There was a dull throb of pain in her chest at the sight of his departure... but she knew he had to get his work done first.
Matsumoto watched as the white-haired Lieutenant eventually disappeared out of her line of sight, leaving the much shorter woman behind him; she could already tell that the Fifth Lieutenant was having a difficult time adjusting to his sudden absence. While the woman could be emotional at times, maybe even dramatic, this time she seemed to be past a point of recovery. "Come on, Hinamori, you can help me make fun of Nanao here."
"I will cause physical damage to the both of you should you choose to follow that path." Nanao remarked as she pushed herself up once more before she moved to press her back against the headboard behind her; listening to the faint squeak that erupted from the aged material.
She waited until the First Lieutenant left her line of sight before she reluctantly turned herself back towards the other two. It was hard to not notice how he was acting strangely towards her, but he was trying to put on a good front about it... probably so she wouldn't worry although the plan seemed to backfire on him instead. It was so odd, he had been acting so normal this morning and yet something must've happened somewhere between then and now... ugh, she was just going to worry herself sick over this. And she was sick enough as it was, she didn't want to push herself even further. Fingertips pulled her through the open doorframe as she slowly moved closer to where the two were sitting together on the bed. "What are you guys doing again?"
"Uh... well we were just sitting here..." Nanao started with a light shrug, fingers pushing up on her frames.
Curiosity got the best of her and she leaned forward slightly with her anticipated query. "I gotta ask, did you and Lieutenant Chojiro ever... uh... you know?" Matsumoto questioned, catching the slight look of confusion on the girl's face. As if she needed to act dumb about it. "Did you ever tap that?"
"Rangiku!"
A sharp crimson blush easily flooded her cheeks at the question and she could only watch as the blonde-haired Lieutenant sent herself into a laughing fit over the matter. "I-I..." the solid crack of Nanao smacking the woman in the back of the head seemed to do little to solve the matter. Frowning briefly to herself, she tried to straighten up slightly and regain her composure- it was the loose cannon of emotion that revealed her weakness in the first place. "You know, I probably would have answered that in some truthful manner, but after seeing your reaction to it... I don't think you're mature enough to hear it."
"Oh come on, your face practically said it all." Matsumoto grinned; taking pleasure in seeing the shorter woman get flustered all over again. It wasn't like it was much of a secret really... everyone had to have noticed how the two of them had been spending months of time with one another. "On a scale of one to five, is he in his Division or yours?"

"Is this the room they gave you?"
Isane glanced up at the question, watching as the violet-haired man entered the room step by reluctant step; she almost wanted to laugh at his hesitation and the scrunched expression on his face. "Well, I'm not sure if they gave it to me but... well it's an empty room and if they want me to stay here for a full course, then I'll take what I can. I didn't really pack for something like this, but I don't imagine that I'll be staying in here all that long anyways. As long as it has a bed, I'll be okay... not that I'll be using that much either."
He passed off a short glance over to where the taller woman was opening probably the only box she brought with her up to this hellhole... and it was a box of documents of all things. The room seemed to resemble a jail cell, although a four by six cell had more appeal than this place did. A brief scoff escaped through his lips as he moved further into the room, fingertips running over the slightly dusty top of the given furniture pieces. "Well I suppose something quality related would be too much to ask for from a Division like this."
"Oh, so Division Eleven could do better?" Isane questioned.
"We would do magnificently." Yumichika assured as he moved over to where a small bed was shoved into one corner of the room; he didn't even think the mattress was large enough to fit the tall Lieutenant. "Especially if I was put in charge of the matter. I'd make sure not to embarrass my Division at the very least... not like this anyways. Who doesn't take their Division seriously? I mean, this is such a disgrace-"
"It's okay, I get your point." she interrupted with a light chuckle. "This was a terrible topic to bring up." the sound of a low squeak pulled her attention from the scribbled notes in front of her and forced her to turn around to see where he was half-lying on the bed. "Really? You're complaining about how dirty things are and you just throw yourself on the bed like that without a care?"
"Well I'd hate for you to have to test it out for yourself." he answered with a light shrug. "Plus, I figured it wouldn't hurt to test out the mattress... I wouldn't want a spring to come loose or anything."
Shaking her head, she moved to toss the papers aside onto the small desk behind her before she made her way over to where he was partly lying down. Even with the loose material of his uniform pooling out underneath him, she knew his trim, sculpted figure far too well to go without its image; he always bragged about being the best of the best in terms of physical appearance in the Society... and sometimes she found that hard to argue. He certainly had a body that wouldn't quit and the mind that loved to spread eager words to anyone who dared for his attention. A few years back she never would have thought she'd be able to call for his attention, but low and behold he courted her the moment they came to know each other better; she teased him for being almost obsessive about it, but he insisted that if it wasn't made that way then she wouldn't have bothered with believing him in the first place. Of course, once that was put out of the way, he insisted that calling it 'obsessive' was too harsh and not the least bit true.
Hands moved to slip into the empty spaces at his sides as she leaned down slightly towards him. "You know, if I wasn't planning on going back to check on the rest of the girls... I'd consider it. But we don't really need any more babies around here, do we?"
"Who said we were aiming to make a baby?"
"Because I know how we can get, Ayasegawa... and with how everyone's hormones have been going on around here... it'd be a dangerous game to play." she reminded. "When are you supposed to head back again?"
"No one cares if I'm gone longer than expected; I've got Ikkaku to cover for me anyways." he answered. "Although I suppose the odds of someone walking in on us are a bit higher in this kind of setting... that would be terribly embarrassing for them, although they should feel obligated to give us a standing ovation after wards."
Chuckling, she moved one hand to push against his face, pushing his head back into the mattress as she pulled away. "I'd prefer if Captain Unohana didn't run into us like that. I'd be easier for my job if she didn't anyways."
"I know that feeling." he remarked as he pushed himself up soon after her departure. "You should probably run ahead and see how the other ladies are doing."
"You know, come to think of it... I wonder if Nemu would want to hang out with us? I mean, I hardly think she's busy doing something else, and she slept all morning so I doubt she's tired; she might enjoy some company." Isane mused, wondering now why that idea didn't come to her sooner. "It wouldn't hurt for her to mingle with the others after all, I mean it's been months since we've all had time to hang together anyways."
He frowned briefly at her remark and watched as she seemed to be giving the motion some serious thought. "You don't think that would be awkward?"
It was her turn to frown slightly at his odd comment. "Why?"
"Because... they all pretty much fucked the same guy..." he started.
A harsh sigh escaped her as she moved to pinch the empty space between her eyes. "I know... but you know what, sometimes you just have to put details aside. I'm treating this situation without an opinion, or at least trying to keep an opened mind about it, I don't want to think too deeply into it. Right now, I just want everyone to be as happy and collected as they can be; if we can keep everyone socially healthy, than it should all just turn out... decent."
He caught the way she seemed to bite lightly into her lower lip, those hazel eyes darting off to some other part of the room. He had seen that look before... and it only drove the curiosity deeper. "... What is it?"
"Nothing, just... it's nothing." she assured with a light shake of her head. His tense expression told her that he didn't believe a word she said and he had every reason to do so... she didn't speak a lick of the truth with those four words. "I would love to tell you, but if anyone else knew what I did, this whole thing has the potential to just crash and burn. "
"Why would you say that?"
"Because a lot of complicated things are going on right now and... I don't know if any of them are true... but if they are, then what you just said could be thrown out the window."
He narrowed his eyes briefly at her remark before his mind eventually put the two and two together. "Whoa, whoa now... what the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"Like I said, nothing."
