There’s nothing better than finding an attractive person of your sexual preference who likes the same weirdo crap that you are in to. Too bad that’s not what’s happening here. It turns out that finding things in common with a 200-year-old dead guy is more difficult than you would have thought, even with your winning personality. It’s really hard to talk with someone who is all “What is the internet?” and “Electricity?” and “Indoor plumbing? You’re crazy!”. Plus it turns out that people from the early 1800’s: still a little more casually racist than you want to associate yourself with. It’s fun for a little while seeing what modern inventions you can shock him with (Polio vaccines? Cars? PANTS FOR LADIES!?) but after about an hour or so it’s obvious you’re both a little bored. You thank him for the lovely evening, wish him luck with the whole being a ghost thing, promise to bring him flowers, and head on your way.
