To answer my reviewers for this story.

Solaris.. Yes, Renji is in love, that's sorta obvious. I'm writing as much as I can but you know what's going on and driving me insane.

orionshadow.. I really don't like the fact that everyone makes Rukia into a good person all the time. She has feelings, therefore, she isn't perfect. As for who is willing to die, you have to watch and see.

britts89.. This will not be a Ichigo, Orihime story. I will tell you that much. I'm glad you are enjoying.

As for everyone else. I know there is a lot of filler chapters in here but there has to be. Orihime has a total of two weeks to transform back to normal. I sorta didn't want to jump ahead with her story line. I wanted to explain why she had committed suicide other than her just appearing in the Soul Society. This next chapter should explain more in detail. As for the trial being so soon, there is a reason for that.

Chapter 3

Ichigo sat eating and staring at the wall, not really tasting his food. He tried to remember what had happened prior to Orihime committing suicide but for the life of him, he couldn't remember. All he remembered was Rukia showing up and that was it. His head shot up as Renji walked into the room. "It's time." the red head said.

"How is Orihime?" the other questioned.

"Getting close now to her transformation. Look, I was sent to warn you. Rukia will be present during your questioning. The best thing you can do is ignore her. Right now, it is still undecided what to do about you. Just answer the questions honestly and don't worry about anything else. Come on, let's go."

Ichigo nodded and held out his hands. "I'm ready."

He was shown in and sat in a chair, being secured down by chains. He knew this was to stop his spirit pressure from rising. Rukia was led in from the other door and secured the same way. The Head of Central Thirty Six stood up. "We will now start this trial. First we will question Ichigo Kurosaki and then the evidence will be presented. Now, we will do this without the aid of truth serum because the Twelfth Division Captain is currently busy at the moment. Ichigo Kurosaki, raise your head."

Ichigo looked up to the man who was speaking.

"What do you know about Orihime Inoue's suicide?"

"I only found out the next day she had done so."

"So, you have no knowledge about the incidents leading up to that night?"

"No sir. Nothing."

"What do you remember of the days before then?"

"I can only remember up to the day that Rukia came back into the real world. She said she had been sent on a mission and needed somewhere to stay. The next thing I remembered was Captain Kuchiki coming to arrest both of us. I saw no need to fight it. I have no knowledge of doing anything wrong. However, if I have, I will take my punishment."

"Thank you. You are sure, that is all. Nothing more?"

"No sir. Nothing more."

"Present the evidence you have gathered."

Byakuya stood with a nod. "I have the order from the Society. It was stated that a Hollow had appeared and was running loose. The Society was having trouble actually tracking said Hollow. Instead of contacting Ichigo Kurosaki, we felt that sending another Soul Reaper would have been enough. When it was brought up, Rukia Kuchiki volunteered to go. The orders were simple. Go track the Hollow, destroy it and return to the Society. The orders also stated that no contact was to be between Ichigo Kurosaki and the Soul Reaper who went. Instead of returning as ordered, Rukia Kuchiki remained in the real world, after the Hollow was destroyed. She was aware of the orders and what the order contained. A witness heard her statements about Ichigo Kurosaki and spoke out against them."

"Where is this witness?"

"It is Kiyone, a fellow member of the Thirteenth Division."

Kiyone stood and turned her face to the judges. "Rukia Kuchiki read the orders and then remarked that she would not be kept away from Ichigo Kurosaki. She stated that he was her boyfriend and no order would do so. Even if it meant breaking the rules, she would be there. She also stated that Captain Kuchiki wouldn't allow anything to happen to her and that she could do what she wanted."

"Thank you."

He turned to Captain Unohana. "Captain, you checked out Ichigo Kurosaki. What did you find?"

The Forth Division Captain stood and bowed her head. "There is a reason that Ichigo Kurosaki has no memory of what happened. He was kept under a high powered dark magic spell that linked him to the caster. He continued to function as he lived each day but he could not act outside the orders of the caster. Once Captain Kuchiki entered the house, the spell was dropped. In a way, Ichigo Kurosaki was wronged."

"Thank you. Have you seen Orihime Inoue's memories?"

"I have. The night she took her life, she was supposed to meet Ichigo Kurosaki for a date. Words were spoken that she heard, knowing that she would hear them. She took her life over a broken heart."

"And the caster of the dark spell?"

"Even though the spiritual mark was covered. The spell traced back to Rukia Kuchiki. Upon seeing her thoughts and memories, Rukia Kuchiki was angry that Ichigo Kurosaki was in a relationship with Orihime Inoue. She wanted Ichigo Kurosaki for herself and acted in the way she did. She set out purposely to hurt Orihime Inoue and drive her away from Ichigo Kurosaki. She ignored the orders set by the Society and did not care who was hurt as long as she had Ichigo Kurosaki in her life. I know what the orders stated because I was one of the four that drew them up. It is on file also that no shinigami was to disrupt the lives of Ichigo Kurosaki or his family."

Rukia glared across the room at the people standing against her. Even her own brother did so, which made her even more angry. The judge cleared his throat. "We will recess for an hour to discuss this issue. When we return, a judgment will be passed."

An hour later the judges returned. "Ichigo Kurosaki, stand for your punishment."

Ichigo stood and held his head up high.

"Your punishment will be as follows. Your Shinigami License will be suspended for the time frame of one month. And during that month, you are not to have any contact with anyone other than your family who is Shinigami. If at anytime you disobey this ruling, your powers will be stripped forever. Secondly to this, you are not to have contact with Rukia Kuchiki for five years. If this is broken, you will have your powers stripped. Do you understand these rulings?"

Ichigo nodded. "I do but you don't have to worry about me speaking to 'Rukia'," he spat the name in anger. "She willingly did what she did and caused one of my best friends to commit suicide. I can not forgive that. It is the same as if she killed someone from my family."

The judge nodded and turned to Rukia. "Rukia, stand."

Rukia stood with her lips raised in a smile. 'They won't keep me from Ichigo. I'll just let them believe that I am sorry, then my brother will get me out of this and I will have Ichigo to marry me. I'll just recast the spell.'

The judge cocked his head. "Why are you smiling after what Ichigo Kurosaki stated."

Rukia smiled sweetly. "He is just upset. In five years he will have forgiven me."

The judge looked at Byakuya who nodded for him to continue. "Rukia. This is your
punishment." He stepped down from his chair and looked at her. "Due to the overwhelming evidence against you, your Shinigami powers will be stripped. You will go back to how you where before you entered the academy. Secondary part of this, you will be stripped of the Kuchiki last name. Third part, you will live as a servant in the Kuchiki household. Four, you will have no contact with Ichigo Kurosaki, his friends or other shinigami. If you are found to have broken these rules, you will spend the remainder of your life behind bars in the sixth division barracks. This time there will be no brother to protest our rulings, no brother to get you out of this trouble. Due to your actions, you have no right to be a shinigami any longer. You are now back to being just a soul. The crimes you have committed, rule for exile but we know that you won't follow the ruling of not talking to Ichigo Kurosaki or shinigami so therefore, you will remain a servant in Byakuya Kuchiki's home till your dying day. These are the rulings, court is dismissed."

Byakuya pulled Ichigo to the side. "Do not forget what you were told here today. Do not forget what you said. She does not deserve forgiveness for these actions. She did them on her own will, she caused what she did. Personally, I would have killed her but that is not allowed." He turned, taking a band from a girl and fastened it around Ichigo's left upper arm. "In one month this will remove it's self. During that time, think of what it means to be a Shinigami. Think of your friends and how your actions were against them. She became your whole world and you pushed your friends away. Make peace with them. Also, do not die within the next month. You are important to the Society. Now if you will excuse me, I have a new servant to take care of."

"Thank you." Ichigo whispered.

Byakuya nodded and turned, walking back towards the Captain Commander. "I am ready to go back now."

That night, Ichigo explained to his family what had happened, what was done to Rukia and what was done to him. He went upstairs and sat at his desk, noting Kon sleeping on the bed in his lion form. He took out a sheet of paper and a pen and started to write a letter.

Renji stopped by Orihime's room and leaned back in the chair, telling her everything. She cocked her small head and found her thoughts running through her head. 'Why is he here everyday? Is he watching me for some reason? Why did his eyes look so strange whenever he came to preform Konso on me? Why did he carry me so gently and why does he sit outside my door? I am so confused. I don't like this. Wait, could it be that Renji likes me? No, that's not it. He is just watching out for me because I did the same for him against Aizen. He just wants to repay a favor is all. That's alright, I am going to join the academy and then the Thirteen Court Squads. I hope they don't put me in the Forth Division. I see the way they are treated and it ain't nice at all.'

Renji's voice brought her back. "Orihime? Are you alright? Do you need anything? Are you hurting?"

Orihime just fluttered her wings. He let out a breath and walked to the door. "Get some rest, Hon. Your gonna need it. Not long now till your back to normal."

As the door shut, Orihime's eyes flew open. 'Did he just called me Hon.' she thought. 'Never before has he done that. I wonder what that means. Maybe it was just a slip. Yeah, that's it. Just a slip.'

Little did either of them know that their lives were going to change and quicker than what every one had thought.
