Much thanks to those who have reviewed. I am glad at least two people enjoy this fic so far.

Chapter 2

It had been close to two weeks since Orihime came to the society. Most of her time was spent trying to come up with a plan to find Kenpachi a wife but it was Ikkaku that came to her rescue.

His idea was to get a list of women who were interested in being his wife and put them through a question and answer session. It had only taken her two days to write the questions but in the days past that, she found herself getting irritated at the applicants. Almost everyone wanted Kenpachi but refused to have anything to do with Yachiru.

Orihime rolled her neck, popping it. Between this application thing and visits with Kenpachi to see Yachiru, it was stressing her out greatly. Even Yumichika was getting concerned with her actions. It seemed that all the young girl lived for at this time was getting Yachiru back to the Eleventh Division.

Kenpachi had run off to some bar away from the division, as he had been doing since the night of the first visit. Yumichika and Ikkaku sat down at the desk where she was sitting and both gave smiles.

"How are you doing, Orihime?", Yumichika questioned in his softest voice.

The young girl looked up, visually tired. "Not good. Out of all these women, if they can be called that, most aren't even wanting to be his wife.

The part of them will raise Yachiru but refuse to have anything to do with Captain Zaraki. The other half want Captain Zaraki but refuse to have anything to do with Yachiru. Only one sets out from the rest.

She seems willing enough but was sort of put off by the thought of Yachiru. She admitted she hadn't be around children and even offered to go visit Yachiru to get to know her. It's just something seems off with her. I can't pinpoint it but.."

Yumichika gently held her hand. "You could always marry him. I mean wasn't that originally the plan?"

Orihime pulled her hand away from his own. "It was but only as a last resort. If no one else is found. We have less than two weeks to pull this off or Yachiru.."

"Pull what off?", a gruff voice suddenly spoke from behind the three of them, causing them to jump.

Orihime spun. "Nothing, Captain Zaraki. Just planning for Yachiru's homecoming is all. Excuse me please."

Kenpachi reach out and held her arm, causing her to stop. "Orihime, I wanna apologize for the first visit. I wasn't mad at you, I just needed time. Wouldn't done my squad any good to see me crying now would it?"

Orihime pulled her arm away. "I have no idea what you are talking about Captain. You were perfectly fine that day when we left."

The three watched her walk away. "What the fuck crawled up her ass and died?", Kenpachi snorted.

"She's just under a lot of stress right now, Captain.", Ikkaku answered. "Just trying to get Yachiru back home where she belongs."

Two days later, Kenpachi was sitting in his office, staring at the blonde girl standing in front of him. He looked towards Ikkaku and Yumichika but both just shrugged.

"And you are here, why?", Kenpachi said with a half growl.

"I am here to be your wife. Orihime said that you needed one. I promise to take real good care of Yachiru. She really needs to be back home. Orihime also said that I passed the exam or whatever that meant. Wasn't you supposed to go see Yachiru today?"

Kenpachi stood and nodded. "Yeah. Let's go. You can tell Yachiru the good news. I ain't good with shit like that. She might not like it at first but she'll get used to it."

The woman smiled and bowed to the other two, the rose up to follow Kenpachi out the door.

Ikkaku and Yumichika shared a look. "I don't trust her.", they both said at the same time.

A week after that day, Orihime looked up to see Ikkaku standing there, holding an envelope. "Orihime, this just came for you. It seemed important."

Orihime smiled and opened it up, her eyes flying across the paper. Her mouth then set in a frown as she looked up at Ikkaku.

"I'll be back soon. Something's wrong with Yachiru. Don't inform Captain Zaraki. Just tell him I went for a walk or something."

Ikkaku nodded and watched her storm off, the letter clinched tightly in her hand. "I wonder what that's about.", he said with a sigh and walked off to finish training the new members.

Yachiru looked up as Serra opened the door for Orihime. The young girl then ran across the room, throwing herself into Orihime's arms. Serra smiled. "Take all the time you need, Orihime."

"Thank you."

Yachiru sat on Orihime's lap as her tears continued to fall. Orihime just held her as she cried and finally the little girl looked up.

"She's awful.", Yachiru whispered.

"Who is?", Orihime questioned.

"That woman that's going to marry Daddy. She's mean and rude and.."

Orihime cocked her head. "What do you mean? What did she say, Yachiru?"

Yachiru took a deep breath. "She said when she married Daddy that she was sending me to the real world. She said that I wasn't going to keep her from being with Daddy and all his attention needed to be on her. Then I heard her friends talking to her outside the door before they came in the second time and she said that she was only marrying Daddy so she could have a captain and all the perks that came with it."

Orihime continued to look at Yachiru. "How many times has she been here without your Daddy?"

"Almost every day. She also said she was having a real baby for Daddy and he wouldn't want me anymore."

Orihime saw red. She knew Yachiru wasn't lying about this. The young girl had no reason to. She calmly stood up and sat Yachiru down. "That won't happen, Yachiru. I won't allow it to. You just get ready to come back home."

Yachiru nodded and hugged her. "What are you going to do?"

Orihime smiled through her rage. "What I should have done to begin with."

Serra cocked her head as the woman walked out the door then looked back at Yachiru.

"Yachiru?"

Yachiru looked up with a worried frown. "Orihime is mad. That's not good."

Orihime stomped into the office and glared at Ikkaku and Yumichika. "Where is he?", she half growled.

"They are in the back garden, Orihime.. Wait, Orihime, where are you going?", Ikkaku spat out and tried to run after her. Yumichika dropped his paperwork and followed his best friend. For some reason, he felt like all hell was fixing to break loose in the Eleventh Division and he for one wanted to see it.

******************************************************************************

It took Orihime no time at all to find Kenpachi and the woman. Of course, Kenpachi was even more surprised when the woman, whose name he found out was Summer, was ripped suddenly from his arms and flying across the garden by Orihime's fist meeting her face. The pain didn't stop there.

Orihime stomped over and grabbed the shinigami by her hair, pulling her back over to Kenpachi. "Tell him.", she hissed in anger. "Tell him what you said you were going to do with his daughter after you got married."

Summer continued to pull, trying to get away from her. "I have no idea what you are talking about.", she spat.

Orihime's eyes darkened further. "Oh, then let me refresh your memory."

She threw Summer down on the ground and turned to Kenpachi.

"She's going to have Yachiru sent to the real world after you get married. She also said she was going to have you a baby and you wouldn't want Yachiru any longer. She said all your attention would be on her and no one else. Oh and let's not forget she's only marrying you for the perks of being with a captain."

"SHE'S LYING!", Summer screamed.

Orihime turned. "I'm lying? Then I guess your calling Yachiru a liar. She has no reason to lie, she wants to come home with her Daddy but whenever you mess with her, you mess with me. Now, your standing here, stating that Yachiru is lying?"

Summer turned back to Kenpachi. "I swear, I never said that. Yachiru is just upset that you won't be giving her all your attention any longer. I have heard of this before.."

"GET OUT!", Kenpachi bellowed, his spirit pressure rising quickly.

"Kenpachi, please.", Summer tried to say.

"You called my daughter a liar. You threatened to send her to the real world. Get out before I kill you. To marry me, you have to accept my daughter and you do neither. If I catch you around Yachiru or even around this division, it will be your death.

"Kenpachi.."

Kenpachi took a step towards Summer, only to stop as Orihime stepped into his path. "Just let it go, Captain Zaraki, she isn't worth it. You must think of Yachiru during this time. Please, let's take a walk to calm down and maybe get you some sake."

She took his hand and turned him away from the woman, making him follow her as she led him away.

Ikakku let out a breath. "Woman, you have no idea how close you came to dying here today. Had Orihime not stopped him, we would be preparing for your funeral. Best that you leave now before he comes back, oh and another thing. Yachiru doesn't lie. Even if she had, Orihime would have picked it up. Come, Yumichika, we need to go do paperwork, before he comes back and attacks us.

The two walked off, leaving Summer standing there, her face still white with fright. She would get Kenpachi Zaraki, if it was the last thing she did. Now just to get rid of that human.
