Chapter 16 - Troubling Words
"Grimmjow, see how he's doing," said Ulquiorra making the 6th Espada's troubled mind snap back to reality.
"Shut the fuck up, who are you to tell me what to do? I'll do it because I want to not because you're telling me," mumbled Grimmjow and crouched down next to Ichigo to see how bad his hands had been crushed and if his head's injury was serious enough that he'd end up bleeding to death. The moment he put his hand on him Ichigo recoiled from the touch, a look of utter disgust on his face which made Grimmjow want to beat him within an inch of his life. "What do you think you're doing, you god damn whore?" said Grimmjow through gritted teeth when Ichigo started crawling away towards the closest corner. "And here I am trying to help you. Come here," continued the 6th Espada, his tone demanding immediate obedience. Ichigo's head was painfully throbbing but the pain was nothing compared to the one he felt from his injured and somewhat crushed hands. He wanted to scream in rage at what they were doing to him, to rip them all to pieces until there was nothing left to destroy. Somehow, at that moment, he couldn't help but vocalize the question plaguing his mind until then. "Why?" "Why what?" asked Grimmjow. "Why me? Why must I go through this? What have I done to deserve this?" screamed Ichigo, cradling his left hand to his chest and trying to cover the torrent of tears running down his cheeks with the other. "Why? Why... why... why..." he kept murmuring while sobbing. The three Espadas just stared at him, Yammy amused, not caring one bit, Grimmjow pissed off and ready to beat/fuck him back into total submission and Ulquiorra somewhat fascinated by the question even thought he knew it was a rhetorical one. "I've had enough of your mood swings," snarled Grimmjow, straightened himself and started advancing towards his soon to be even more injured pet. "DO NOT FUCKING TOUCH ME AGAIN!" screamed Ichigo, his voice filled with rage and hate. "You're sick, all of you! You're just beasts with no honor!" "Grimmjow, stop," interfered Ulquiorra when the 6th Espada was one step closer from reaching Ichigo. Grimmjow didn't stop because Ulquiorra had asked him, but because at that moment he felt a bit offended by what the Shinigami had said. At hearing the smaller Espada's words Ichigo raised his head and looked at him, his face showing such an utterly defeated expression that even Ulquiorra couldn't believe what he was seeing. "I need some time alone... please." He was not begging, it was a simple request, from one warrior to another, and strangely enough, Ulquiorra didn't fail to understand. “We're leaving," said Ulquiorra, Grimmjow and Yammy following his order without any objection, Yammy because he usually listened to Ulquiorra and because he couldn't do anything as long as Aizen wanted the Shinigami alive, and Grimmjow because despite everything he said or did he was still mostly confused. The moment the door closed Ichigo slumped to the floor, his mind going blank. As soon as they were out of the room Grimmjow made sure to go in the opposite direction of the one Ulquiorra and Yammy were going. He practically stomped through Las Noches, his hands nervously clenching and unclenching inside his pockets, until he was finally out into the open, staring at the desert in which he spent most of his Hollow life and where he sometimes felt like home when he was upset. What was annoying him the most at that moment was how he so obliviously slept while Yammy entered his room, which in turn made him even more confused at why he enjoyed so much having the Shinigami in his bed like that. There was also the dream, which disturbed him immensely, and that moment when he felt a bit ashamed for being called honorless. He knew that he shouldn't care what his enemy had to say. That was their nature, a Hollow's and a Shinigami's nature, to crush each other until only one was left standing. At the same time though, as he was much more than a simple Hollow, a being who managed to cross the barrier between a Hollow and a Shinigami, he didn't like to be called a beast. The whole reason why he even struggled so much in the past was to not revert to a mindless Hollow. He wanted to evolve, to be the master of his own destiny and mind and he succeeded with Aizen's help, as much as he hated to admit. In truth, he was still bound to Aizen, serving him, but he also had freedom in a way that as an Adjucas struggling to evolve he didn't have. And what of his obsession with the Shinigami? What exactly did he want from him? When he fist met him he knew what he wanted, he wanted to test his strength out of curiosity then kill him. It was a simple plan which ended up being more complicated than he could've ever imagined. At that moment, a shocking revelation hit him hard. Kill him... kill the Shinigami... just kill him, but why not... eat his soul? Why didn't the idea of eating his soul cross his mind when he went to seek him out that night? And why did he fuck him? "To possess him, to dominate him and to show him his place," said Grimmjow out loud, as if arguing with himself. That wasn't all, the more he saw him the more he liked to touch his body and the more he wanted to hurt him. A part of him, the biggest part, wanted to bring upon him unimaginable pain, but there was another part which until then lay dormant and which was starting to be bothered by the question of whether he should be treating the Shinigami with honor or not. "Fucking Shinigami whore," muttered Grimmjow and sonido-ed away from Las Noches, the desire and need to wreck havoc within the Hollow population outside of the castle burning with a fiery passion.Urahara Kisuke was sitting on a rock inside the training ground drinking some tea and watching Renji and Chad fighting each other. Both of them came separately to him asking for training but he wasn't what they needed, his bankai was not something he could use to teach others, nor help them train, so he did the obvious thing, he made them train together. While Chad needed to increase his speed, strength and resilience, Renji needed someone to fight with and block his attacks, someone to chase around until he could easily have control over his oversized bankai.
"Yo, Kisuke!" "You've decided to visit me after all this time?" asked Urahara without turning around but knowing exactly who was standing there. "HA! Like I'd come here just for you." "Of course. Why are you here then?" "I'd like to know where Ichigo is." "Kurosaki-san's been taken to Hueco Mundo," said Urahara after a long pause, then turned around to look at his old acquaintance. "What?! Why? When?" "I'd say... about three days ago, as for the why, probably because Kurosaki-san is the only one who can fight on par with a Captain or Vice Captain and isn't under the influence of his Kyōka Suigetsu. Perhaps he saw him as a danger to his plans, but it's all speculations, we don't really know what exactly he's planning to do. Aizen is an extremely smart and cunning man, we must not underestimate him." "Stop praising him like that in front of me, it's pissing me off." "Hirako Shinji, why are you here? Urahara-san, do you know him?" asked Chad who couldn't help but want to know once he saw him entering the training ground. "Nothing much, we're just talking," said Shinji, trying to be as polite as possible. "Yes I know him, don't worry about it, better go back to what you were doing," said Urahara, trying to send Chad away before he asked any more questions. It wasn't that he didn't trust Chad or that he didn't want to tell him, but he didn't know if Shinji was comfortable with other people knowing about him, what he really was and what he was searching for when he entered the same class as Ichigo. Shinji didn't have to tell him about his plans, he simply knew. "I'll see ya later Kisuke," said Shinji and waved good-bye. Chad didn't have a choice, he had to trust Urahara, so he went back to training with Renji. Shinji on the other hand was upset that he lost Ichigo to his arch enemy Aizen. He wanted to talk more with Urahara but the appearance of Chad made him leave earlier than he wished. Looking back, the last time he felt Ichigo's reiatsu had been during the night when the Arrancars attacked Karakura Town. As much as he wanted to go there and help Ichigo he knew the guy had to decide by himself if he wished to join them. Not interfering had definitely been a bad idea though. How was he going to break it to his comrades who would surely be as upset as he was? Though most of all it was Hyori's reaction that he truly feared. "Shinji!!!" screamed Yourichi and tackled him to the ground before he could even react. "Yourichi, what are you...?" mumbled Shinji, his face red from embarrassment at being captured so easily. "This is all you have to say to an old friend who helped save you?" teased Yourichi and twisted his arm even harder. "Ahhh! Stop it! You know, I still need that arm!" "Then next time don't get caught so easily, I even called your name and I still managed to take you down," said Yourichi amused and got up. "I was distracted, it's not every day you find out that a possible comrade got captured by your worst enemy," said Shinji while trying to get rid of the dust on his clothes. "What are you talking about?" asked Yourichi with a worried expression on her face. "You'd better ask Kisuke. Even I don't know everything since we got interrupted but I'll be back another time. It was nice talking to you again. See ya!" Yourichi rushed to the training ground knowing she'd find Kisuke there. What disaster had taken place while she was away, busy investigating some things that both her and Kisuke needed to know more about?Meanwhile, Ishida was in a special room inside the hospital running around trying to dodge his father's arrows and luckily succeeding. He was starting to wonder if his father was planning to kill him since what they were doing didn't make any sense at all unless his plan was to either shoot him down with a Quincy arrow or tire him to death. It didn't look good for him but he had no choice, he had to trust Ryuken.
