On her deathbed your Great Aunt Iris took your hand in her thin, bony palm and said “If you are ever in the woods on Halloween night because you are lost because a bat flew at your face and you got scared and ran and then you come across a creepy cult bonfire, you get your little keister right the heck out of there, young lady!”
At the time you found her advice to be upsetting and way too specific, but boy are you glad of those words now. You turn on your heel and head back the way you came. Or, at least you think this is the way you came. Crap. It really is amazing how spooky trees can be so uniquely creepy but still seemingly identical. You could swear you’ve passed by that stump that looks like your weird 2^nd grade gym teacher at least twice by now. That or Mr Stout was just really stump-like in nature.
The snap of a twig behind you rips your attention away from gym teachers and their tendency to look like the remnants of felled trees. You whip your head around but even as you strain your eyes through the darkness you can’t make out anything in the gloomy forest. Another branch breaks, this time directly in front of you. You feel you blood turn to ice as you realize that, whatever is out there; it’s now starting to toy with you. You make a mad dash through the trees as you catch a glimpse of yellow eyes and shaggy red hair. RENJI THE WEREWOLF crashes after you through the underbrush, but was caught off guard by your sudden movement. You decide to climb a tree and hide. What costume did you pick?
