Jushiro Ukitake, captain of squad 13, has always been susceptible to getting sick with the oddest of things, but this one takes the cake. He had first gone to have himself checked out when he was constantly feeling a pain in his gut and felt bloated most of the time. At first Squad 4 had no idea what was wrong with him this time, they had never seen a sickness like this before in the Soul Society, it had them baffled. They called in their captain to get her opinion on this. She went over all the tests that the others had done on him, and figured out what was basically wrong with him. She pulled him into a private room to tell him what he was sick with this time.
Jushiro was nervously waiting to find out what was going on with him, which ended up making him feel worse than he already was. He was clutching his stomach when Captain Unohana came in to tell him what was going on with him. She had her usual solemn face as she flipped open the folder in her hand and sighed. “So what’s wrong with me?” he asked with a pained look upon his face, still grasping his stomach. “Well it was hard to figure out at first but we have finally figured it out for the most part,” she began. “It seems that you have some sort of infection in your intestines.” “Ok, what is it doing to me?” he asked slowly. His gut began to growl in discontent quite audibly. His pale face turned a light pink color out of embarrassment; he couldn’t look at Unohana now. Unohana smiled softly and shook her head, “It’s going to continue doing what it has been doing. Causing a pain in your gut, bloating, and…. Well…there is one more thing it may do…” “What? What else will it do Unohana?” he asked anxiously. His gut began to hurt even worse than before because of how anxious he was now. He clutched his stomach even more and it began to gurgle more and his gut felt like there was a lot of pressure in it. “Ugh,” he moaned because of the pressure and pain. All of a sudden an audible brrrrpppptttt noise erupted from his bum. His face became a bright scarlet red; he couldn’t believe what he had just done that, especially since it was in front of another captain. Unohana looked away, ignoring what had just happen, “That is the other thing it will do to you, it will make you extremely flatulent.” She bit her lip and looked back at Ukitake to see his reaction to it. He was still bright red and pinching the boney bridge of his nose. “Jushiro! Are you ok?” Shunsui asked as he suddenly burst through the door of the room they were in. Ukitake jumped when Shunsui burst in the room and his eyes went wide out of worry it would happen again only this time it would be in front of his best friend. His face became a darker red. Unohana shook her head and thought; you couldn’t have come at a worse time Captain Kyoraku. “Oh don’t worry about me Kyoraku,” he said hastily. He smiled a fake smile at the scruffy man, Kyoraku. “It’s just a minor stomach bug.” He felt his gut twitch when he said that so he clutched it more while still smiling at his closest friend in the Soul Society. Unohana quietly left the room, leaving them alone in the room. Kyoraku raised his eyebrow at his friend’s response; he could tell that the smile was forced and fake. If you’re alright then why are you clutching your stomach so much and why does your face portray pain? He thought a he looked Jushiro over. He can always see someone’s true nature but it seemed like Jushiro was acting out of his norm. “If you’re alright then would you be up for going out for a drink with me?” “NO!” Jushiro said abruptly. He didn’t want had happened in front of Captain Unohana to happen in front of his close friend. Shunsui was taken by surprise by abrupt his friend’s answer was. “I mean I don’t think it would be good for me since I have stomach bug.” “Alright,” Shunsui nodded. “See you later then.” Shunsui left the room with a puzzled look on his face; he wondered what was really wrong with his best friend. Captain Ukitake made his way back to his squad soon enough. His stomach was still bloated and in pain; he put his lieutenant, Rukia Kuchiki, in charge of the squad indefinitely and went to his quarters. He relaxed a little when he knew for sure that he was alone and no one could hear him. He didn’t turn any lights; he just sat there in the dark of his quarters. That’s when another loud fart slipped out of him; he curled up into a ball and began hoping that this would end soon.Meanwhile Captain Kyoraku went to investigate to see if anyone knew what was wrong with his best friend. The first person he asked was Captain Unohana of course, but she told him that doctor patient confidentiality prevents her from telling him what’s wrong. He was annoyed by this but decided not to pester her about it. He asked just about every captain and lieutenant in the Seireitei to no avail. None of them knew what was wrong with Ukitake. The sun was setting in Soul Society now, and Shunsui was about to give up when Rukia came running up to him.
“Captain Kyoraku!” Rukia panted as she came to a stop in front of him. “I’ve been looking all over for you!” “Why? What is it Rukia?” he asked curiously looking at the small statured woman in front of him. Rukia caught her breath before she said anymore. “Do you know what’s going on with Captain Ukitake, sir?” Kyoraku bit his lip and looked away from the blue eyed lieutenant, “No, but I wish I knew.” It really pained him not knowing what was going on with his closest friend. “Oh… I was really hoping you knew because I’m worried about him,” Rukia sighed and looked away. “He made me acting captain for while he is sick and he locked himself in his quarters and will not anyone in.” This news made Kyoraku even more worried about his friend, he looked back at Rukia. “He really has done that?” he asked solemnly with a bit of worry in his voice. Rukia nodded as she looked at Kyoraku again with worried eyes, tears welling up in her beautiful dark blue eyes. She bowed quickly as the tears began to fall from her eyes. “Please Captain Kyoraku, go visit him! You’re the only one that could maybe get him to come out! Please help him!” she begged him. She was deeply worried about her captain, he had always taken care of her but now he wouldn’t let her help him. Shunsui placed his hand on Rukia’s shoulder and half smiled. “Don’t worry, I will,” he said confidently. He was determined to help his best friend at any cost. Rukia stopped crying and smiled as she watched him leave to go check on Ukitake. She knew in her heart that if anyone could help Ukitake it would definitely be Shunsui. Shunsui made his way to squad 13’s barracks by the time the sun had set, and eventually was in front of the door to Jushiro Ukitake’s quarters. He knocked on the door but there was no answer. He knocked on the door again but still no answer. “Jushiro, you there?” he asked worriedly. “It’s me, Shunsui. Can I come in?” Still no answer but Shunsui could swear he could hear the muffled sound of crying in the room. “Jushiro, I’m coming in.” He slowly opened the wood door and went in, quietly shutting the door behind him. He looked through the rooms in the quarters for his best friend until he finally found him curled up in the bedroom. “Jushiro?” Shunsui said as he cautiously approached him. “Go away!” Ukitake exclaimed as he threw a pillow at Shunsui’s face. Ukitake could feel that his gut was bloated and filled with pressure again. He didn’t know how long he would be able to hold it in, but he really hoped that he could hold it ‘til Shunsui left. Shunsui caught the pillow and the stared at his white haired friend worriedly. He sat down next to Ukitake and put his hand on Ukitake’s back. He noticed that the muscles in his lower torso were quite tense. “Jushiro, please tell me what is going on?” “NO! Now go away!!” “I’m not going anywhere until you tell me what’s wrong. I’m really worried about you, and I don’t like seeing you like this at all.” Ukitake was momentarily taken by surprise but then smile broke across his face. He loved that Shunsui cared so much about him, it made his heart flutter. He looked up at Shunsui still smiling but then he realized that he was no longer concentrating on holding it in. He quickly snapped out of his little daydream and tried to keep it in but it was already too late. A string of loud, bubbly farts escaped him for about a minute. Once they subsided he wrapped his arms around his legs and stuffed his face between his knees. There was no way he could bring himself to look at Shunsui right now, he was completely mortified. Shunsui stared blankly at Jushiro for a moment, taking in what had just happened. Shunsui sighed and shook his head. He tried to choke back his laughter but it was no use. “This is why you’re pushing everyone away?” he chuckled. Jushiro slowly lifted his head from between his knees and looked at Shunsui with a raised eyebrow. There were streaks on Jushiro’s cheeks where tears had come down moments earlier. He didn’t understand Shunsui’s reaction to what had just happened. Why isn’t he grossed out or running away from me? Jushiro wondered. The reaction he was seeing from Shunsui made him slightly happy but it still puzzled him, it was not the reaction he was expecting. He slowly nods to answer Shunsui’s question. Shunsui continued to chuckle for a minute or two and then began to compose himself. When his laughing subsided he looked at Jushiro and smiled a big smile. He really did care about Jushiro, more than anything or anyone in Soul Society. He places his hands on Jushiro’s shoulders so he was looking at him head on. “Listen, you don’t have to worry about me being grossed out by this,” he said softly to Jushiro. “You can completely relax around me and I won’t mind.” “Are you serious?” Jushiro asked shocked. Shunsui nodded, still smiling at Jushiro. “But why?” “I don’t know really, I just don’t mind it is all,” Shunsui shrugged. Heck he even kind of liked it but he wasn’t going to admit that out loud. Shunsui positioned himself so that he was sitting in front of Ukitake; he spread his legs so that Ukitake was between them. Ukitake began to curl up in a ball again as he felt more pain in his gut. His abdominal muscles grew tense again; it was going to happen again. With every fiber of will in his being he held it back even though he knew eventually he would burst. That’s when he felt Shunsui embrace him in a hug and rest his chin on his shoulder. “I told you, you can relax around me,” he whispered in Ukitake’s ear. “Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.” Ukitake bit his lip still holding it back. He wasn’t use to Shunsui being so close to him and in any other situation he probably would have enjoyed it. He did feel slightly relieved that Shunsui didn’t just run off but how long would that last? Even though Shunsui said he was alright with it Ukitake still felt a little bit of doubt and embarrassment. “Why are you staying with me?” Ukitake asked breathily. His hand was clutching his stomach lightly due to the pain of the pressure inside it. Shunsui smiled and whispered softly into Ukitake’s ear, “Because I love you, Jushiro.” Ukitake’s brown eyes grew wide and his pale face turned a light red. He pulled away from Shunsui just enough to see his face. He presses his forehead to Shunsui’s. “Really?” was all Ukitake could utter. Shunsui nodded, “Really.” He smiled at Ukitake so close to him. He could feel the others warm breath on his face and see into the other’s chocolate eyes. He was slowly closing the gap between him and the others lips when he heard a nice juicy fart escape Ukitake once again. Ukitake flushed a dark red and looked away from Shunsui. “I’m sorry I ruined the moment,” Ukitake muttered as tears began to form in his eyes. Shunsui lifted Ukitake’s chin so he was looking at him again. He wiped away Ukitake’s tears with his thumb and smiled at him. “You didn’t ruin the moment,” he smirked. He leaned in and kissed Ukitake deeply. You made it, he thought. When the kiss was broken Ukitake had the most perplexed look on his face. “B-but… Why did you…? But I…” Ukitake stammered. He didn’t understand why Shunsui still ended up kissing him even though he had done something that would kill the mood for just about anyone. Shunsui chuckled softly as he looked into Ukitake’s eyes. “I already told you, I don’t mind it,” he smiled. He pulled Ukitake into a close and tight hug. The hug ended up squeezing some more gas out of Ukitake. “I hope you know that Rukia’s worried about you as much as I was.” Ukitake rested his forehead on Shunsui’s chest as his eyes began to water a little. “I’m sorry that I have worried you both… But please don’t tell her about this; it’s too embarrassing for me.” “Fine,” Shunsui smiled softly and kissed the top of Ukitake’s head lightly. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
