Okay, so I just re-read "Of Leaders and Loyalty" to prep for the new chapters, and I remembered a question that came up after I last read it: Does Aizen know about Unohana's Kenpachi status? And will she be able to use a surprise reveal of that status to turn the tide of a battle or two?

Those of us who are familiar with recent developments in the manga know about the Kenpachi thing, but it happened loooooooong before Aizen's time. And it's been shown many times in this story that he does not actually know everything currently possible to know. So I figured he might not actually know.

Given that Unohana has been unable to overthrow him so far, I don't guess it matters much. But I was curious.

You may have answered this in the upcoming chapters I haven't read yet, but I wanted to ask in direct relation to this chapter.

I'm only on "The Night before Tomorrow: Soi Fon". Please, please, please don't show Yammy and Byakuya... except... dammit, I want more Byakuya. As if I need more reasons to hate Yammy. And I know that Byakuya doesn't know of the plot. Such mixed feelings your story stirs in me!

@Chapter 86-87: First off, Szayel and Nemu... Christ, that guy's life is seriously f*cked up! Great, on top of what we've already seen, it turns out that he was basically Aizen's 'prison bitch' well before the Winter War events started... To hell with revenge, the first thing the Shinigami (and even some of the Arrancar) need is prompt trauma therapy. Man, was Soifon ever right on that account. And I seriously hope that someone can find a way of fixing his mask, so that he's not dependent on Karin for the rest of his life. I'm not sure why they never had Orihime at least try to fix it at some point during the decade that passed after it broke.

As for the next chapter: I'm not entire sure how to feel about this... I mean, I've always liked Rukia, enough that I worry for her welfare even though she's not one of my favorite characters. And yet, as (I think) 'Hichigo' points out, being with Ichi was a bit of package deal, so the fact that his inner Hollow exerted itself upon her isn't totally a surprise. And, if I'm going to play 'Devil's Advocate' while I'm thinking about it... Rukia does kind of take Ichigo for granted in some ways. She likes getting her way, and she doesn't seem to think about the fact that she walks over people.

It's not helped by the fact that the two guys who where closest to her- Ichigo and Renji- pretty much would fall over themselves to do what SHE wanted, to make her happy. And I was glad when Nell finally called Renji out on his lingering fixation with Rukia. I can only imagine what it must feel like for Nell when BOTH of the men she was attracted to where pining over Rukia. It's almost this weird sort of reverse harem scenario, with her as the object of desire for two or more guys (depending on the artist/writer's take). If Ichigo sometimes suffers from "Main Character Syndrome"- that 'he's the main character, ergo that's all you need to know'- then Rukia too often the "Princess". While Ichigo is reduced to an underdeveloped leading man, then Rukia is the entitled girlfriend, and both of them end up being the focus of attention/feelings that they haven't earned.

With all that said, you ARE NOT guilty of this with either of them. Both ourself and Blackfox have written them very well, and also I'm including your characterization of both of them in "Crossbreed the Future" when I say that. Anyway, while I hadn't planned to effectively spam you with this many reviews in such a short period of time, I ended up doing so anyway... But then, that's more a testament to how good your writing is.

Lets see... The only other couples I can think left now would be Toshiro/Halibell, Renji/Nelliel/, and Diaemus/Ajuga (lol).

The night before Tomorrow: Syzel and Nemu
That was a great chapter sad but good because Syzel talked about what happened to him with Nemu it was just like you said everyone is goin to have things they will need to get over and everything that's the price if where they were and what has happened to them. Keep up the great work I hope everything has been good for you!

Chapter 87??? The one with Rukia/Ichigo

That's was a great chapter!!! While I liked Ichigo and Rukia it was cute! I thought the hollow part taking her was hot too. As he said she got them all in the marriage after all. I do like how his hollow half gave Rukia a partial claim that will fade and the possibility of a child because things could go wrong and at least this way they could either get to Rukia or she has the possibility of having a child to remember them by if they fail and she lives. Great work as always loved it! I can't wait for the others!

Wow.  What a touching chapter.  I have to admit that when Renji is addressing his son, as the lump formed  in his throat tears were welling in my eyes.

 

Your writing - story telling, characterization and expression of feelings continues to entertain and amaze me.

Allow me to congratulate you on your wonderful news. As you already know first hand, having a baby and being a mom is such a wonderful (although sometimes trying) experience. For me, it has truly been the singularly most amazing and important thing I have ever done..

Now, onto to story...I am so enjoying the daily updates and getting a snippet of time with each of our couples the night before the big battle. You can feel their love for each other as well as their individual despair and reasons for joining the assassination plot.

Thank you for continuing to share this story and showcase your writing talent (this includes blackfox as well). I can't wait to read the remaining chapters of this saga.

This is, by far, one of my favorite chapters. It might be because I love Rukia a lot more than Karin, I don't know, but anyway, that was so good! Ichigo's Hollow was such a little devil! ^^
