Yeah, like I said before, I took another look at the last couple of paragraphs of the last chapter, and it suddenly hit me you didn't actually say who the Quincy was that shot the SOB, add in Szayel's reaction, and I just sort of made a leap. As to this chapter, huzzah! Byakuya's free, and Yammy's gone! Though I think Ajuga's gonna be upset about not getting to help with that(I can hear her whining about it now, hehe). So, I believe that just leaves Barragan, unless you also mean to dice Nnoitra, though I kinda espect he'll fold once he hears Aizen's history. Providing, of course, Gin's even willing to let him walk at all. Ah, well. Until next chapter then! Laters!

@Chapter 97: With my work schedule, the timing of the updates has left me as one of the last people to post a review of the chapters as they come out, and I can't help but feel a bit down by the fact that I'm again late in responding. I was really on a role there, but I guess it was just a matter of time until it became impossible for me to keep getting my reviews posted like that... *sigh* Oh well. But then, I suppose there's something to be said for quality over speed, better to do it right than do it first.

Any way, enough of my nonsense, time for the actual review: Well, you got me, I never would have guessed that Yuzu was the one who fired the shot, but I guess it's a nice coda, that she would be the one to finish him off. It's fitting that the sweetest and most unassuming person should be the one to finally shut Aizen up once and for all. Though, I personally thought his death was way too quick. I would have preferred something much slower and agonizing, like something you'd see out of a 'Hellraiser' film, with lots of screaming and gore. Still, I guess the important thing is that the fucker is gone, and no one has to live under his insane tyranny any more. It was nice to finally get a reunion between Ichigo and Karin after everything that's happened. And it was also nice that Grimmjow can finally let go of some of the guilt he's been lugging around.

However, the sudden revelation that Karin can just break claims didn't sit quite right with me... I'm not sure why, but everyone seems to be treating it like it's a done deal. I mean, the way they're talking about it- saying that they'll just round up the Arrancar and remove their claims, like it's nothing- struck me as strange, and a little contrary to the rest of the story. I'm sorry, but it's far too neat and tidy for me. Oh well. Again, everyone seems to expect the Numeros will calmly accept having their power and prestige taken away. I always had the impression that we were being encouraged to view things from their point of view, but now the story seems to be implying that the Shinigami are going to effortlessly retake power. If you were always going to just pull the rug out from under the Arrancar, then why did you go to so much trouble to make us relate to Nnoitra (or Sementall)?

With the way the characters are talking, it seems like all the post-rebellion conflict and tension is gone. I'm kind of shocked by how totally unconcerned Stark and Ulquiorra are about this, considering that other characters seem to making up lists of who they're going to execute- and this is disturbing, given that I've become somewhat sympathetic toward them... I mean, everyone seems totally unconcerned by the fact that Gin appears to have wondered off with the intent of murdering Nnoitra! What about the other vendettas? I recall that Marenoshin seems intent on killing Sementall. Are they just gonna let him try and kill the father of Mareyo's unborn child? Because and the vibe I'm getting from everyone is that they couldn't be bothered to give a sh*t that there's now a bunch of vengeance-fixated people moving around unchecked... I don't know what I'd do if something happened to Franque, not after all the joy and laughter have provided us with. Now that I think about, I think I need to do some fan-art of Franque and Kimiko Lloydt, along with the other pics I have in the works. I'll send you the links when I have something posted.

Moving on... I am so glad that Yammy is gone. This guy has been darkening everyone's doorstep for ages. And it was extra-satisfying that Rukia was the one to kill the bastard. She literally 'iced' the mother-f*er! Now I'm wondering where the hell Ggio is, since he was clearly present when the attack began, since he was the one that gave Byakuya his haori to wear. I guess we'll find out next chapter.

Anyway, at some point, I'm hoping to have a bunch of pieces of fan art to show you, including a 'cover' I've been working on.

While I will say that it was fun having the shock of it being Yuzu, I think that your first inclination of it being Ruuyken was more poignant. To have the father revenge the son and save a people that had all but eradicated his own, that screams of the justice of the Quincy and of Ruuyken's great despair at the loss of his son. Your stories are wonderful in their depth of character and your ability to weave dialogue, thoughts, feelings and actions into a beautiful tapestry for our imaginations. As this begins to come to a close I want you to know how much I will miss the look into these characters lives as you saw it. It was very hard work on your part and that of your editors and all given for free. You bless us, thank you.

    Marvelous, simply marvelous.

-Yuzu getting the kill-shot was excellent. I will admit I was wrong in thinking it was Ryuuken.

-the Reunions were amazing and heartwarming.

-CAN'T WAIT for Gin to roll up on Nnoitora and get some retribution for Rangiku. You mess with her and this man will throw himself into devising a way to end you.

-Rukia ending yammy with her Bankai had me jumping out of my chair and fist-pumping. It's been a long time coming and I am so glad that monster is dead.

-Massive points to Karin for breaking claims left and right and still being able to keep moving despite what she has endured in the last couple of hours.

-Have I ever mentioned how much I love your dialogue? Renji in particular had some good lines against Yammy

    Absolutely perfect chapter

-waits patiently for the next one-

I must confess that for a second it did cross my mind that it was not Ryuuken, and a part of me, a tiny part hoped for some miracle that it would be Uryuu, but I knew that would be impossible, and since I didn't know of any other Quincy, I settled for Ryuuken.

I'm glad that bastard Yammy is dead. Oh, how I longed for this moment! I wish he would've suffered more, but I see how it would've been impossible to do that to someone like him. Just too freakin' big!

    @DarkStar84

Once again, don't mind me, as you have seen many times over I tend to really get into my rants once I start and a purge is more wishful thinking from me than actual expectation. Who knows, maybe the old maggots nest will be of some use again. But as you will have noticed from my review I primarily wish pain upon the hollows who chose not to evolve past there base cruelties. And even my talk of Renji and Ukitake is motivated mostly by the fact that you simply can't hold back when everything is on the line, regardless if the beings you are fighting have become better people, war is war and they need to see the bigger picture of 'what is' over 'what might be'.

Now about Ichigo, I only asked if he was the strongest since Grimmjow flat out said/thought:

"This was the power of a Vasto Lorde, one who could toy with Starrk if he chose without breaking a sweat and it was close enough to feed on him if it chose. Grimmjow promptly sat on the urge to find hole and hide in it.

I quickly grew to love the fact that Ichigo was secondary in this story but was still curious if he would become the strongest. It would seem at least from Grimm's musings that in his ultimate form he surpasses Starrk.

I read the warnings and knew what to expect when I got into reading part one of this story, so I understand that I should have a thicker skin about what transpires but for me rape or even general abuse has always been a berserk button of the highest order. Wait I take that back, it's not so much the rape that it is certain characters treatment of it. Orihime forgiving Ulq for what he did is not much of a surprise since he never put her in the hospital and that the girl is practically the freaking messiah of anime lol. It's when other characters follow suit when they have legitimately been hurt by there claimers due to either a "Big O' that comes with the claim, passage of time, simply giving in or having a kid. Non of those are prerequisite's for forgiveness and love and as much as it frustrated me in the past Ulqhime is the only initially non-consensual pairing I can buy into evolving into love in this fic.

See what I mean about getting into my rants? I literally just wrote this last paragraph in a daze

I too am curious about the kids, regardless of the circumstances of their birth and how they grow and would love to see another installment detailing that. I also wonder if one of the couples would give birth to a hybrid that takes more after there shinigami parent in appearance.

And feel free to play Devil's advocate all you like, it is refreshing to discuss things with someone with different viewpoints and less bias.

    @Kain

Here I am, once again playing Devil's advocate for the Arrancar... Maybe I'm wrong, but the impression I got from remarks made by a number of characters in previous chapters, was that the one thing that is not going to happen is some kind of attempted purge of the Arrancar population. I'm not giving them a pass for all the shit they caused, but it seems to me that the truth of the matter is that they aren't going anywhere. I don't want to sound like I'm saying this just to be contrary, but Ichigo has been a secondary character throughout the majority of the story, so I doubt he's suddenly going to emerge as the strongest person right at the end. Especially, since I think in this continuity, that Stark is the most powerful person in Soul Society.

Speaking of continuity... The whole point of this story was to offer a darker alternative take on the characters, as opposed to the train wreck that the actual manga rapidly devolved into. And personally, I think that removing Ichigo from the spotlight is one of the main strengths of the story, since I've always found the rest of the cast infinitely more interesting. But then, at my age of thirty, I've spent the last two decades watching anime and reading manga where the dramatic narrative is dependent on a single character. So I love the fact that POV has always been an ensemble piece. Or maybe, I'm just so desensitized to all the evil shit in this story that I can't bring myself to properly hate the Hollows... sigh.

Honestly, at this point, rather than another bloodbath, I'd prefer see what happens with all the forthcoming kids. I hope there's some kind of follow-up to this, because I'd love to see what Tatsuki/Tesla, Rangiku/Nnoitra and Toshiro/Halibell's kids will be like. Plus, there's the fact that Nanao *might* be pregnant with a cub, so that's something to think about. Plus, I'm in desperate need of some serious Ggio/Soifon good feels right now (which you can probably relate to). Not to mention I wanna see some more Ajuga/Diaemus fluff!

@Chapter 96: Don't sweat it, delays are inevitable. As to the story, there was a hell of a lot going on during the fight. I'm still curious about the injury Vindula caused Aizen's hand, and the fact that it was effecting him like a corrosive poison on his inisides. I couldn't help but find the man's arrogance amusing, still insulting and trying to trying to manipulate Ichigo and Grimmjow as he's struggling to keep his power level up. But then, it makes sense, manipulation is usually the last vestige of a coward.

It was pretty cool when they managed to literally rip the damn Orb from out of Aizen. Then, Karin picks the thing up and crushes it, and he's still casting impotent threats at everyone! The term "like a cornered rat" perfectly describes what Aizen had been reduced to, as literally everyone showed up to close the noose around his proverbial neck. Though I was thrown off the first time I read the ending, when that blue energy energy obliterated him, and had to back and re-read it to realize that Ryuuken had sniped him with his Quincy powers.

Anyway, great job, can't wait to see what happens next week!

I was beginning to really worry about you Nova, and figured that your health was the reason for a late update. Very glad to see that you are still well enough to update but I'm so sorry you aren't doing as well as you probably want to be. Never feel obligated to update on our behalf, your wellbeing always comes first. No one thinks any less of you if they don't get their fix for a week. I'm so grateful that this fic is being seen through to the end, and that is enough. Take time for yourself! Also congrats on over 50 pages of reviews here!

I'm so damn eager to watch Barragan die but not eager at all to watch Soifon fight Ggio. I'm dreading it so much. But it makes sense. You never told us how their fight in the war ended so I guess if they fight now it will make up for that. I want it to be bloody but not fatal. Damn you for making me so conflicted.

Ok that was awesome, I loved how utterly ineffectual Aizen's taunts were against Ichigo, and the way you incorperated his new Bankai and full hollow form was...well almost terrifying were it not ofr him finally being fully aware in that form. And while foreshadowed earlier, the end of the fight still managed to catch me slightly off guard. Main show aside nice job showing Renji and Rukia's growth, both in terms of strength and as people over the last 15 years, in summary excellent chapter, good riddance to the bad rubbish that is Aizen, and onto the loose ends that are Yammy and Barragon, on a nonstory related note sorry to hear your not doing well and hope you get well soon.

I certainly hope you feel better. It was well worth the wait.

What a suprise ! I can honestly say that of all of the characters you could have chosen to deliver the final death blow(bolt), I would never have predicted Ishida. Of course, I realized he was leaving the world of the living to somehow further help the escapees, I just didn't anticipate it being in such a major part.

The fact that after all of these chapters you continnally surprise your readers is a credit to your ever evolving writing skills.I look forward to reading the remainder of the story. Any chance for a third story in your series detailing the adjustments to living in a post- Aizen world?
Can't blame a gal for asking.
