That Aizen, what a d-bag. I hope it backfires on him. I'm glad Nanao didn't die from claiming and I'm glad there was a spark between them, I thought they'd make a good pairing considering Stark and Shunsui are alike, yet I think his personality is way more introverted and considerate. Tatsuki and Tesra was a surprise to me, tho. I can see how Tatsuki's sense of justice and protection would win out over fidelity, yet I really wanted to see Tesra put his foot down and say no. Guess he'd do anything for her, though. I wonder if you've written how that all plays out. Keep up the good work.

I loved loved that chapter with Nano and Stark also enjoyed the last one as hard as it is the way things happened with those claimed I thought it was amusing and It made me love Tasaki for making Tersa pick that girl! It was awesome with those that picked their claims so very awesome with how Harrribel's fraction!!! I can't wait to see how things play out. Also adored the last chapter with Ichigo and Rukia!!! Great job as always :) and for the summer I hope to swim some and tan like a normal person and not be so pasty white ;)

Hey, I know its been forever since I reviewed (or wrote anything for this site) but I'm finally coming out from hibernation and you're my first nibble upon waking. Just so you know, the only AFF story I've been keeping up with is this one, even if I haven't been reviewing. I just had to comment on this latest chapter of Howling Coyote.

So, I agree with your assessment on Shunsui and his foresight. It had been nice that Nanao had the time to grieve and develop a trust bond with Starrk up till now and I'm quite surprised at how pleased I am at their pairing. My eyes were dripping a bit while Starrk waded through his apprehension and self-loathing. You made the coupling very enjoyable, though, as you usually do. I'm so glad Nanao had been "takin' care o' bidness" during her singlehood, like a real woman would. Yep! I ended the chapter with a great deal of satisfaction, but not even close to the satisfaction of the two involved, I'm sure. Thanks for a great chappy!

Ah, fate, such a fickle thing, ne? Question, though - why didn't Aizen ever call Lillinette's name for Claim choosing? Wouldn't she want to take her pet given the opportunity? Otherwise, Viva La Revolucion! Laters.

Can't tell you how grateful I am that you kept the entire 33 page chapter and split it into two without trying to edit or cut back on any of it!

Both chapters were wonderful of course. Have to say a small part of me was a tiny bit concerned that Nanao might not survive, that maybe you intended to use her death as a last means of motivation to spur Stark into action (though I think we'd all agree he already has all the motivation he needs to go against Aizen by now).

I really love how it turned out......the internal conflict for Stark and all of Nanao's actions/feelings and their conversations. I love how she made him realize that she was fine (and happy) after being claimed.....and how we now know that Stark isn't a monk or something! lol

    Keep up the great work!!!!!

Thank you for the double chapters this week.

I could feel the nervousness that our characters were feeling while waiting for Aizen, especially after Unohonna shook her to an approaching Jushiro. You could feel the apprehension, tension, the fear of our conspirators. Before this joining of forces would Haribel have stood up and asked her question about Hana - which shut Starke down, and most probably, from going off on Aizen? I don't know but now the threads of treason are mor important than attaining a higher number.

I also wanted to compliment your writing on the claiming between Starke and Nanao. I read that you were 100% against bringing them together, but I honestly felt it was a natural progression for them. ...and it was his first kiss.
    It was written very nicely.

Did you say fishing? Fortunately for me, where I live, we can fish year round a d literally 247 and we do. We fish off piers, docks, boats, deep sea, fresh and salt water.

Thanks again for continuing to share your stories.

@Chapters 68-69: Well now, this was certainly an unexpected development... Though, it wasn't exactly horrible, in fact it was downright intense and even funny at times. I had a feeling Mila and Apacchi would choose girls, since they're both "doms". And it sort of makes sense that that Sunsung might choose a man, and Iemura is probably glad to have been picked by the girly one of the three. And I had a good laugh when Francque scampered over to the one guy and declared that he'd "take good care" of him, and then his _pregnant_ mate's perverted yaoi fangirl glee. And Hitsugaya's reaction to the whole display was pretty funny- considering that he can still be so uptight about certain things, even after sixteen years.

I wasn't all that surprised that Nnoitra wouldn't want another claim. As has been pointed out, he chose Rangiku because she embodied everything he wanted in a female (his 'checklist', so to speak). Though it was an interesting bit of insight that Tatsuki was the one to suggest that Tesla claim another woman to keep her safe. It guess it makes sense, given all the times Tatsuki has gone out of her way for the sake of another person. And given the gray morality of the predicament, the orderly way in which the claims seem to have played out could have been a hell of a lot worse. I loved hearing about the differing reactions of Ulquiorra and Orihime to Diaemus' "engagement" to Ajuga, and the fact it makes them members of the Royal Family. But then, Orihime wants to have/be part of a big family. And Ulquiorra, well he'll live being an in-law of both Grimmjow AND Ichigo.

As to the final- and biggest!- development of the last two chapters, Stark and Nanao... I wasn't bothered by it, but I wasn't sure how to feel about it the situation they'd been put into. Though I was glad to see that Nanao chose to be positive about the whole situation, making a conscious choice to enjoy herself rather then feel guilty or disturbed. I really liked the fact that she's not embarrassed or upset by her own sex drive, especially seen when she effectively takes charge of the coupling to enjoy it to the fullest.

And I hope that Stark doesn't feel too guilty about claiming Nanao, not after she just ran off to go talk to Tatsuki and Rangiku about the mind-blowing sex they just had! It'll be interesting to see how this could effect the dynamic between the four of them, given that Stark is even more attatched to the remaining members of his "pack" than he was before. Can't

Any way, the chapters were great and I CAN'T wait to read the next chapter!

OMG I didn't think I would ever have a new favorite couple but I do!! I love Starrk and Nanao together! The way you wrote these last 2 chapters was exceptional! And I think waiting this long to put them together was perfect. They have truly gotten to know one another as uneasy allies, friends, Pack and now something so much more! I'm really hoping all of Starks concerning Nanao come true I think they would have stunning clubs! Absolutely love this story one of my favorite of all time!

That was so well written. The scene between Nanao and Starrk was great. Starrk was full of apprehension and Nanao had a clear head. I'm hoping that all ends well with them.

    Ch. 67-

Wow. I am actually caught up with this monstrous endeavor. I don't like reviewing past chapters, (who wants to hear old news?) so, now that we are in the present, presently... Overall, I appreciate the heart that is in this second half. I find the consensually paired characters more loving to each other, which doesn't give me that sickly underlying twinge of wrongness as I'm following their interactions. At first, I was horrified by the constant abuse some characters got away with dishing out and cringing at the severity, every time thinking that things couldn't get any worse, but they did! Ugh, they did! Then I found myself self-loathingly anticipating the one-upped debauchery of Yammy, Baraggan, and Aizen. I cannot wait to see what you have in store for Karin. You can't possibly let her go unscathed, can you now?

Thanks for the update! While I'm not an IchixRukia shipper at all, it was still a fairly enjoyable chapter! After reading A/N, really looking forward to the next one as well!

A lot sure has happened in the last half dozen or so chapters, where to begin...

First off, I'm glad to see that pragmatism has finally gotten the long-term escapees and their recent additions to start working together. As the saying goes, necessity makes for strange bedfellows. I've always liked it when a series (which this essentially is now) goes on long enough that it can explore situations where the good guys and 'bad guys' have to work together- I recall the X-Men cartoon doing this a few times in the 90s. It's also nice (if somewhat ironic) to see Renji emerging as a voice of reason in all this, given his past reputation. I've found that whatever reason, Renji tends to blur into the background when he's part of a large ensemble cast, so it takes some effort to keep him at the forefront of the narrative. If my reading of the clues is correct, then Renji's son is going to be a centaur... wow, that's pretty damn epic.

It's also been my experience that Ichigo can become something of a knucklehead or a jerk if he's not written correctly. The thing that finally won me over to liking him was the bond between him and Nell- that she's his friend first, and he doesn't care if she's an Arrancar. It's bewildering to consider that it's the fans who embraced her as part of the larger fan-cannon, while Kubo himself just dropped her character for seemingly no reason. The recent scene between Ichigo and Grimmjow was refreshing, and it appears that Ichigo has grudgingly accepted his relationship with Karin. Grimmjow, for his part, has clearly mellowed over the years, to the point that he's able to talk openly to Ichigo- about his feelings, no less! Still, Ichigo really needs a chance get to know both Ajuga and Diaemus now- since they're also part of this ever-growing monolithic Kurosaki/Yaegerjacquez/Cifer family, which in turn is allied with Stark, Halibell, and Szayel's packs/families. Few, that's a lot of names and info to keep up with!

If they can pry Renji away from his wife for long enough, then the three men can get to work on tarring down that wall together, and maybe get some much needed time to properly hash things out between them. As to some of the others... I wasn't sure how to feel toward Yuroichi, given how flippant she was regarding the horrific situation Byakuya was in... But, I realize now that it was a way of coping, so she wouldn't become consumed with grief. The moment when she sees that she's "lost" Soifon was rather poignant, especially by the fact that she realizes this is for the best. Anyway, in regard to recent developments, I wonder if Orihime and Ulquiorra have experienced in sort of boost in power, given that they're now linked- through Diaemus- to the Royal Family. Can't wait to see how they'll react when Stark breaks the news to them. Also, I hope we'll soon get to see how Diaemus and Ajuga are doing and what they've been up to. (I'm a such a fan of the two of them!)

As to your closing remarks... Wow, you've really left me with a sense of dread, given that I didn't think there was anything overt that Aizen could possibly to make him self look any worse with Stark than he already does. Now don't get me wrong, I know that Aizen is just about as evil as a "person" could ever get, and by this point there isn't really that he wouldn't do- his sadism and cruelty knows no limits. But I'm surprised that he'd go so far as to break the facade he's maintained (to varying degrees) over the many years... Not unless he's just become so depraved and detached from reality, or out right insane, that he can no longer see the larger ramifications of what he's doing. Though, Orihime did point that he's gotten visibly worse in the last fifteen years...

The last question you posed... Well, I liked the 2004 version of "Dawn of the Dead", and I liked the 2002 remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", though the 2006 prequel was just mindless gore porn. I even enjoyed the remake of "House of Wax" (in spite of some flaws). The Abrams Stark Trek films never really did anything for me, and while I did kind of enjoy the first Michael Bay Transformers, the two sequels were f*cking terrible!

I loved this chapter with Rukia and Ichigo. It was great seeing the interaction between them. I have to say shirtless Ichigo...Yum. Also, I wonder if you plan to include Hollow Ichigo and Rukia. The idea of a claim would be interesting.

Another great chapter as always and I'm so excited for the next one! I was very impressed with the way Grimmjow and Ichigo handled each other and their conversations were awesome on their walk they had! Ha love the little hint about not talking about rabbits in front of Rukia that was great!!!

With the reboots well some can be really good and others not so much so it could go either way if the original or the reboot are better :)
