Oh, and on Orihime, I feel compelled to remind you that this is the same girl who, not long after being taken hostage by Aizen in Hueco Mundo, decided to use her powers to negate the Hogyoku from existence at the first available opportunity! Sure, she never got the chance actually implement this plan, but she still came up with it, on her own! And never once spoke of it to anyone as she knew damn well there was literally no one in Los Noches she could trust! Just saying.

At last, the plan comes together! Though I am curious as to the last two things they need, but I'll wait. And as to your announcement, Congratulations! I sincerely hope all goes well for you this time around. Well, until next week, then. Laters.

@Chapter 81: Wow, you really packed this chapter with a lot of excitement, intrigue, and emotional twists and turns. Before I go on, I just want to say that I hope you start feeling a little better at some point.

Anyway, as to the chapter... First, I was glad that Ggio finally got a chance to speak, though I've realized that him actually being happy is basically an omen of something bad that's about to befall him... And as for Yumichika, man! I'm constantly in awe of him- this guy is clearly made of stern stuff than his frilly, perfumed exterior would have think at first. He selflessly put himself in harms way for others, taking the brunt of Barragon's lechery, and all with a smile, and asks nothing in return. He should be made a saint.

I also enjoyed the bit with Stark and Nanao, how the two of them are fumbling their way through the finer points of this new relationship. It's because of you that I've grown to adore Stark (and Lilinette) as much as I do. It's your take on Stark that inspired me to turn him into a main character in my own story. And poor embarrassed Nanao- I laughed when Yuroichi suggested they get Jushiro involved in a threesome! Anyway, the rapid-fire revelations at the end was exciting. Though I did wonder if having so many powerful being clustered together would be like a beacon in the dark, what with the massive concentration of reiki all scrunched together.

Still, as an acknowledged fan of Orihime, I feel compelled to point out to remind people that while she may be a bit of space cadet at times, she's a much stronger person than she's often given credit for. I mean, this is the woman who looked Ulquiorra squarely in the eyes and slapped him across the face without even flinching. Deep down, she's made of steel.

On a larger note, I'd like to compliment a particular trait that I've observed throughout the entire run of this series. I really love the way you've explored the varying forms of intimacy that people share. I'm not really talking about the obvious form- ie, characters who are lovers, like in the case of GrimmKarin or UlguiHime. Rather, this series has showcased the kind of relationships that are often ignored in storytelling.

For example: Karin and Szayel have a very intimate relationship. After all, she's been with him at his very worst- she's treated his wounds, stitched him up in the shower, and saved him after he slit his wrists. In turn, Szayel has put himself to protect Karin and his family- he's gone through multiple bouts of physical and sexual violence, and never even considered betraying Karin. And this brings me to the relationship that's developed between Renji and Szayel and his family. Renji's been there first hand for some of Szayel's rough times. I guess you could it be argued that you don't truly know another man until you've had to hold him as he cries/bleeds.

Getting back to Yumichika for a moment... The relationship between him and Ggio may have been born out of necessity, but it's clear by now that they're arguably as close as Yumi was with Ikaku. Most TV and films are terrified of showing two men being that close, because they're terrified of the idea that people might think they were gay (rolls eyes). It's the same bullshit as how a man isn't supposed to appear emotionally vulnerable in front of another man. The fact that Yumi instinctively moved to hold Ggio as he's breaking down into sobs shows how much of a better storyteller you are than most of the so-called "professionals" in the industry.

Well, I've said my peace, as it were. So the only thing left now is to reiterate how much I'm enjoying this story and how much you've inspired me to try and become a better storyteller. I can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter!

    I too enjoy these discussions.

    Hmm Aizen......

I would like to believe that he wasn't always a monster. But the fact that he was so vastly superior to everyone around him I think gave him a bit of a god complex, and really, just how long do you have to be so much better at everything than everyone else till you start to see them as lesser beings and yourself as some sort of god. Until Ichigo completed his training in the dangai, the ONLY person who had him beat in raw power was Yamamoto. I actually enjoyed manga/anime aizen to a point because despite having an absolutley broken ability you got the sense he only used it because he was feeling lazy, once he cut loose he showed he was capable of soloing every other captain and taking most of them down in one shot. Another thing about canon Aizen is that we know absolutely jack spit about him aside from some of his time in the gotei before he became a captain. We get no mention of birthplace, whether he died and simply came to the SS or was born there, WHY he is so insanely strong and how he was able to conceal that power for so long. We hardly ever got a revealing pov from him in the manga/anime, hopefully when he decides he is tired of prison and shows up in the final arc we will get some back story.

Now "prize of victory" Aizen is a straight of sociopath, the man believes he has no restrictions in his actions, he is like a toddler throwing his toys around, no one but him matters in his world. Even when we are given pov chapters of him they are absolutely terrifying, for him torture and rape are just another Tuesday. Even when he gets a pet the dog moment it's less about mercy and more about it just being another one of his whims. In this fic I think the "Aizen", who waged war with the SS ceased to exist the second he ascended to the throne and the final veil was lifted and the "Aizen", the sick twisted fuck we have seen since chapter 1, is his true self.

Oh, please don't worry, I've actually enjoyed these impromptu discussions we've had. Even when we don't quite agree on certain things, I'm more than able to understand your point of view. And, to be honest, if Diaemus wasn't in the equation, then I'd be perfectly fine with Ulquiorra experiencing a proper karmic bitch-slap over what he's done. It's just that by this point, Ulquiorra is *so* different from how he was when the series began that he's virtually a different person now. NOT that that's an excuse, mind you!

Anyway, I think the only real difference is that I'm more inclined to accept the Arrancar's actions and beliefs, because they're creatures of instinct and their morality is so fundamentally different. To me, the Arrancar are more like animals in some ways, so for me at least it feels like I'm judging sharks or rabbits for not being more empathetic. Though we'll both just have to wait and see how things play out.

I've posed this question before... But what's your take on Aizen? Do you think that Aizen always was the monster that he is now? Because I have to wonder if "Aizen" is just an act, and that the person everyone "knew" never really existed. It's like, for how powerful and intelligent he is, he has NO sense of imagination or creativity... aside from his inherent sadism.

This Weeks Question: If you had to make a cryptic system for Kisuke to use to hide his research, how would you have gone about it? - Well when I read that there was candy recipe's, I immediantly though of a mod soul recipe that knew all his data and recordings. Idk How that would of gone down as mod souls are often airheaded and one track mind but still.

+ I like your writting style, it makes me hang on every word. I look forward to wednesday's because of this story. I don't usually type down a reveiw, but thats only cause I pop in just to read and don't often do much else on this site. You make me feel for Grimmjow, I think in all every single character who is going through stuff emotional wise- it would be him that I'am most sympathetic with. I know Karin is going through rape, and torment, but to be Grimmjow and feel powerless for the one you love is devastating, to know you couldn't protect them. It hurts! :'(

    - I feel like your chapters are getting shorter and shorter! I also feel (not a fan of Kenpachi) that Kenpachi is a bit out of character, but that could just be the affects of the loss the war provided. Zaraki seems to be just a backround character (which is perfectly fine with me), but he also seems to me; is a man who commands attension as such.

Oh don't mind me, you would be hard pressed to find a review of mine where I am NOT preaching about the subject of a character having raped someone in this fic lol. I adore Diaemus and don't hold anything his father did over him and would not wish any emotional trauma on him, it's just that I feel Ulq, despite having apologized for his past behavior got off a far too easy since Orihime is such a forgiving soul. I have mentioned it well over 100 times over the course of reviewing this story since part 1 that "easily forgiven" and "Karma Houdini" tropes just set me aflame with rage and I tend to get on my soap box and preach about it. You will find that not even the decent Arrancar like Harribel and starrk are safe from my rages lol. And I mostly speak of when the dust settles after Aizen is put down cause there is no way after all of the little reactions he has displayed of anything having to do with Ulq that ichigo is not one day going to have a confrontation with him.

Yes people, especially children need someone to look up to but please recall that Hana's "idea" of who starrk was took quite a hit when she discovered that he was the one who killed her father but in the end after some time she still loved him all the same. In my view it is better to know the truth of someone and learn to understand them than love an 'idea' when it could very well be a lie. Please know that I have the highest respect for your views and hope that I did not offend and what I have typed made sense. I tend to go off on a tangent when I get into typing at times.

    @Kain

Grimmjow isn't going to tell Diaemus about what happened, because he knows they don't have time for that kind of emotional shitstorm. There really is no reason for Diaemus to ever know about it, especially since his mother- the victim- has never even come close to even hinting at it. Besides, the only other people who know what happened- Tatsuki and *maybe* Karin- never mentioned it, then it's better to bury the past and move on. And personally, I don't think the kid deserves to experience such an emotional break. After all, people need someone to look up to and believe in, and sometimes it's the 'idea' of the person that's more important than the truth.

@Chapter 80: Wow, this chapter was great! The relationship you created between Szayel and Nemu really made me fall in love with both of them, as well as them as a couple. It was great that we got to see things from Szayel's perspective- his thoughts and inner musings on various things. I especially loved it when he's fantasizing about Nemu, that he's finally able to envision something enjoyable for a change... in this case, it's his lovely wife.

And then of course, there's the big revelation in this chapter- that they finally uncovered a possible means of counteracting Aizen's Zanpakuto! That damn sword was such a gamebreaker, but then as Kain put it, he was always this walking godmode to begin with. Ironically, he's become so arrogant over the last sixteen years, that he's done nothing to improve on his abilities. Sure, he access to the powers of the Celestial Throne, but he's lost that boost in power now and the rebels are about to figure out a way of countering his other major ability. I mean sure, he's always been innately powerful, but the gap has narrowed over the years, and he has made SO many enemies even within his own forces.

And while I'm sympathetic with Ichigo to a degree, on a number of issues, I find him to be pretty thick-headed at times. Seriously, he must have more important things on his mind than giving Diaemus the evil eye because he's the son of Ulquiorra. I'm also seriously glad that the characters realize they have more important things to do than prying into other people's dirty secrets. But anyway, I have to compliment you on finally showing another side to Hiyori. She needed more empathy towards the people she's been forced to work with, and it seems as if she's finally started to chill the fuck out, so good on you for showing her being more relatable.

As for your question... I don't think I could have come up with a better way of encrypting the data. The only thing that surprised me was that it relied on liquid being pored on it, which only happened by accident. Though, it's only a minor nitpick. Other then that, I think hiding it in the candy recipes fits perfectly with Urahara's off-beat mind and personality.

    Chapter 80 Eurka moments
Another great chapter!!! I'm impatiently waiting for one next week though where Ggio gets to see his daughter Avi... I can't spell it but I remember that much. :) I think Szyel having the dream where they won was awesome :)

My.....that was quite the..ahem 'dream' lol. Quite a few developments but would being able to counteract Aizen's shikai really give them an edge? And unless Aizen pops back up in the manga and reveals his bankai are you going to make one up for him or just have him not use it due to his arrogance?

Kisuke is quite the unorthodox brilliant son of a bitch aint he? I like how you brought up that he seems to hold all of hiss cards to his chest and do things solo without informing other of his long term plans. You have a very good grasp on the character I think. A lot of the stuff in the manga would have been so different if he had just let Ichigo and the crew in on his plans and maybe given them a heads up about Aizen before they even ventured into SS.

One thing I found odd from this chapter was how it was stated that it all was going to come down to Ichigo and Grimmjow. Ichigo yeah I could see being the linchpin in the final battle but wouldn't grimm be a little out of his league? Wouldn't it make more sense for them to have Ichigo and Starrk since the 2 of them when at their peak vastly surpass grimmjow and could actually prove a threat to Aizen in a straight fight? I mean Grimm is by no means weak but Aizen just has to exert a little of his power to bring Grimm to his knees.

"Sure, their relationship started off on the wrong foot."

Oh grimm, I like you but you just won the understatement of the year award my friend lol. The kid may find out one day about his dear old dads treatment of his mother, why beat around the bush and make it sound less than what it was. best to rip the band-aid off instead of repeatedly tugging at it.

And Yeah I could see how having a kid we know jack shit about beat up a fighter who gave Renji a run for his money would piss someone off. Made Renji look weak and never answered just what the hell the girl was to be able to curb stomp a fraccion level arrancar.

-waits patiently for the next chapter-
