Chap 6: Wrote this when you were kinda down. That's exactly how I felt by the end. Oh, Bya. What have you done? If I were the flautist, I would approach Byakuya in my true identity and try to forge a relationship the more direct way. Perhaps Bya's experience with the icon will have allowed him to heal some from Hisana, and he'd be more open to it. Especially, if the bandaged man doesn't return to fuel his fantasy. Really. Isn't that what he needs now? Heal, and then move on to a real relationship? Anyway, beautiful as always, but sad, so very sad.

Damn I just love this story! The whole thing is sweet, and so sad at the same time, but I love the last chapter! *sigh* I am wishing for more now :(

BUT! On a side note I made some fanart for you! It's not great but I really enjoyed doing it:

Chap 5: I was thinking about what Kyoraku said in Ch. 4 and wondered if he wasn't referring to Byakuya's need to hold onto Hisana, not his need to drown in the flutist song. It was bothering me why he would say that to him, unless he knows more about the flutist that he let on.

It's surprising that Byakuya would kiss the filthy creature, but clearly his emotions are in control, not his sense of decorum. The 'taste' threw me off. Sake? That one IS perplexing because I'm not sure my chosen person is much of a drinker. Spices? Could be something he ate. Fruity sweetness? You may not know this but when diabetes is out of control, the breath of the diabetic can smell "fruity", at least that's what my prof. told us. I never smelled it. Maybe he ate a spicy fruit-cake laced with Sake? Anyway, mmmm, kissing good. "Again", more kissing, very good. Yeah, that'll tide me over for awhile. And I didn't feel any over-dramatic tendencies in Byakuya. *cheeky monkey* Well, as I said, his emotions are ruling his actions at the moment so he can hardly be blamed if a little drama spills out.

Your Byakuya is spot-on! I loved the exchange between him and Shunsui. Thanks so much for more of this story. It's keeping on the edge of my seat to find out who the mystery flutist is. Love it!

Chap 4: It leaves me feeling sad. Poor Byakuya, he can deny himself, but it won't change the hunger inside. I don't know why he thinks it is weakness to want to fill a void. He wouldn't need it so bad if he was fulfilled, already. One can function better in all aspects of life if one is balanced, and he has some glaring deficiencies. Perhaps, he will come to some realization, later. Ukitake ran off in a hurry. Fleeing his 3rd seats, or ...

I can't give con. crit. when I don't know your intent so I can determine if you succeeded or where you might need work. But if I knew your intent, I wouldn't enjoy the discovery and surprise I feel as the story unfolds. If you struggle, I can't see the evidence, so I am sorry for being of no help.

I truly love the beauty of this story. The sound of the flute, the sensory paradise Byakuya is enveloped in, and the mystery of the repellant flautist's identity give the impression of sincere artistry. I just like it.

I like this. I look forward to more. I'm curious as to whom the mystery person is. But instead of guessing, I'm going to wait and see how it turns out. Thanks for updating.
