thrilled ori is finally knocked up (never heard banged up myself) and hope its a short gestation (maybe w/identical twin batbabies--its still just a ball of cells but by the time it implants to uterine wall, could have split into twins, or, another egg could of been fertilized but just not implanted yet when fairies checked her out for fraternal twins. batbabies are a great artwork waiting to happen--please, someone draw future babies w/wings, tail, & ears. if it got ori's haircolor, would body fur be ginger or black? i wonder.

also really enjoying the bonding scenes between women (or implied bonding) given the needed emotional support to survive & thrive in aizen's grasp, esp w/their significant other's off doing aizen's bidding so often. the tats/tesra romance is really cute. the grimkarin moment at end was super sweet.

sad to hear about szy again. hope its not b/c aizen learns of claim by karin. also hoping that we see personal growth in orihime (in powers, in confidence, etc) matching growth seen in karin. time has passed & now that training has resumed & she's got the mommy protective force as well, it should strengthen her resolve in turn making her more powerful since that's how her powers supposedly work (but as w/karin, being human, she won't have as much reiatsu as an espada). i'd luv to see fierce momma protecting cubs ori really kicking ass (or even a scene w/all the women kicking ass & showing the chauvinistic arrancar how wrong they are).

question guesses: a)zanpakto get returned; b)byakuya's voice; c)renji's soul or whatever was broken in him.

Nice chapter. Kinda hope to see the refugees ... Especially now that they know about Karin and Grimmjow and Ajuga (Yuzu must be so torn).

It will be interesting to see how long Orahime will be pregnant as well as what the baby will look like. (so hope we get to see Rangeku send Nnoitra into a full frontal face-fault with a little announcement of her own at some point ... That could really be hillarious ... Especially if she lucks out and draws the multiples card ... Twins? Triplets? Nnoitra almost having a seizure due to heart failure when he doesn't even have a heart to start with). Of course if Tatsuki and Tesra weren't using precautions (or if it breaks ~ oops) Tatsuki would probably be next.

It would be interesting if, unbeknownst to Aisen, the wrongful or forced taking of the Kami power/position/title resulted in sterility and Gin's contraceptive tea had nothing to do with Unohanna not getting pregnant. The price he paid for usurping the position of Kami was to relegate him to shooting blanks for the rest of his life. (would soooo serve him right).

Sounds like the stoic little bat now has a little something to crow about. Guess Szayel will be tickled pink (and not just his hair) when Ulquiora and Orahime drop in for a little check-up ... With Karin trailing behind to keep any unnecessary risks from being taken. I'm sure she'd say Szayel had agreed to babysit Ajuga for an hour or so ...

Hmmmm ... Taken and returned ... Well it could be Byakuya's voice but that is highly unlikely unless he already has his Zanpakto and can call for hiscloud of tiny blades to use against the bugs. I know Aisen was contemplating the possible usefulness of returning the zanpakto's a few chapters back (minus Renji's of course ... Though that may change at som point ... You never know) ... The returning of the title and position of Kami to the rightful rulers? (don't make me laugh)

I'm guessing it will be the return of the zanpaktos to the pets for use against the bugs. Would love to see Nnoitra go all out to make it a really special celebration when he gives it back to Rangeku ... All wrapped up in a big shiny box with pretty ribbons and given to her after a fabulous dinner out complete with chocolate and champagne (could you see her having a little something to announce to him too with a giggle ~ a bun in the oven ~ just to make the night extra special. Well ... He would be giving her something she'sbeen wanting so much and doesn't ever expect to get ... So shouldn't she return the favor at the same time? (he'd get an added bonus though ... In the real insect world a male preying mantis is beheaded during mating but Nnoitra might be allowed to see his own kids). Just want to see his reaction to impending parenthood and any changes to his treatment of Rangeku ...

I just noticed a continuum mistake. You know how in this last chapter Szayel said he never had sex with Nemu from the front. Well he did just that back in chapter 36. And he was even positioning himself while facing her before Nemu decided to take control! Now when this chapter first came out I didn't think too much of this error due to the fact that Szayel loves to experiment and I figured that he would probably be the kind of guy to also be experimental in the bedroom. But now I know for sure that it was a writing mistake unless he doesn't take her from the front when he reinforces his claim.

Looks like my (porn) nitpicking got me to realize the Ulquihime baby is coming soon 2 chapters ahead of your hint at the end of this chapter.

Sorry � I couldn�t help myself, but review once more.

This last chapter brought so many question marks *sigh* For example. What will happen when Aizen finds that Karin and her daughter have Royal Blood? � I fear for them.
Also what will happen if Unohana (hope I spelled it right) gets pregnant? This is the worst especially since he plans to kill the child (How sick it is to kill your own child)
There is the question of Karin�s role in all of this and if she will ever be able to dethrone Aizen. Maybe her daughter will have better chances.

From this point on you�ve got me hooked. Not that I wasn�t hooked before, now I�m just even more interested. I�m still asking myself if such a feat is possible *smirk*

Actually I think I'll add Aisen as a shinigami I'd tie down (ok chain down with the strongest chains available) on my bed ... Then I'd leave the bedroom completely accessible with a blatant invitation to all Espada and any other interested souls to enjoy doing as they please with him ... Then I'd find a new place to live until everyone was finished. Don't know if that counts as an answer to your question a few chapters back or not but it would make everyone else happy I think ... Of course if I did it right it would be in one of those secluded honeymoon shacks with the note signed Anon and requiring a small donation to keep up the rent on the room until all comers (pun intended) were finished with the contents.

Excellent chapter. I'm starting to feel that the Marquise De'Sade would have balked at how sadistic Aisen is; and that's saying something considering sadism and all its variations are named for that particular Marquise. Aisen needs to be punished and have his power stripped from him somehow so that any left alive who have suffered under his presence (before or after assuming the title/position of Kami) can exact their own retribution ... Possible exception being Yammey who deserves almost as much punishment as Aisen (even if Orahime must bring Aisen back to life with all his memories intact over and over again until each and every victim has a chance to pay him back in full).

The way I see it, Szayel led a normal life until he evolved to a higher adjucas stage or vasto lorde stage when his higher brain functions took over. Given his highly developed curiosity and his lack of available information he had little choice but to conduct research on any subjects he was able to obtain. To my knowledge he rarely if ever went to the human world and contented himself with the subjects who were in Hueco Mundo. Given the nature of life and evolution there his actions would have been more like 'playing with his food' than anything else since it is most likely that he would have consumed his test subjects once he was finished with them ... At least until the arrival of Aisen. From Szayel's pov it is possible that he would have viewed any non-hollow lifeforms the way human scientists view primates ... except he could directly communicate with these new species much easier than human scientists can communicate with their lab specimens. In otherwords ... While what he did was wrong from my (and his victims) pov, he was doing the best he could with the resources available to him in an environment where such actions would have been viewed as a more or less natural part of the circle of life. From what I can tell he may still experiment on hollows, shinigami, and humans ... But he doesn't intentionally try to hurt or damage them (he honestly didn't know what would happen to Renji and he does regret the damage he did by way of his experiment, though he will permit Renji to be used and subjected to humiliating actions if said actions do not appear dangerous to Renji physically). If given the option of using willing volunteers I'm sure he would prefer to use those willing test subjects to using unwilling ones; that option rarely occurs though. As for what he did to Byakuya ... I'm guessing Yammey pretty much gave him little choice in the matter and that Szayel would reverse what he did if he was able to and requested to do so. For all we know he may have even said as much to Byakuya before proceeding (If I don't do as requested Yammey will squash me like a bug and then ask my replacement to do it instead; so you see I really have no choice).

I feel that Szayel and Gin have both suffered more than enough since Gin was more or less brainwashed and encouraged to follow a deviant path from a fairly young age by Aisen and Szayel's actions were discussed above. From the treatment and comments toward Gin I am guessing that Gin finally realized the path Aisen was leading him down was wrong and that he regretted his actions at that point. He deserved punishment for the wrong doings after that point (not so much those directed toward Aisen of course) but the actions before he realized Aisen had led him astray should have merited a small amount of lenience because he was being mislead and corrupted from the start by someone that had been placed in a mentor role by the higher ups in the squadron hierarchy. Aisen is being sadistic just because he is a monster and not because any of those he's punished recently have deserved it. Personally I'd love to see Aisen dethroned, have his power stripped, him given to each victim who is still alive to face their wrath (kept aliveby any means necessary), then let a fully healed Gin be with Unohanna (since Rangeku is now with Nnoitra ~ unless Unohanna and Nnoitra would like to get together so Gin and Rangeku can be a couple again).

Hmmm ... Next chapter? Will We see those who got away? Or will we see another baby in the offing?

When you asked what Shinigami would we tie to our bed, I said Aizen � I take that back. He�s a motherfucker piece of shit and I want him dissected by Mayuri in the worst possible way, alive if possible. I know Mayuri is dead, but it was my imagination running wild. Kill him and Yammy.

The answer to your question: NO! First of all because this is not punishment, it�s cruelty towards a spirit (Gin) and an Arrancar (Szayel). I want to hug him :)

I have no idea what you�re talking about, but I can tell you what I�ve been waiting for 58 chapters. Aizen killed in an atrocious way or Orihime pregnant and I guess the second one is the correct, right? o_o�

nope, no more punishment for szay. he's had enough. aizen is pure evil & gin should get to kill him very painfully.

karin/szay scene was great. way you wrote her reactions & how she was comforting & helpful was perfect. superhappy that other females are getting to do more. ori gets to help at 4th & fight a bit, tats gets to fight & has a man, nanao has lots of respect, ran got to fight too, & ajuga & hana get to do more too. look forward to next chap

Sorry, still not so much sympathy for Szayel. He's just getting back what he reaped before, and not just on the Shinigami, but on other Hollows as well. And I still haven't forgotten about zombie-Renji! As for the punishment...lets just think about what Gin went through for simply letting his attention lapse from his god for just one minute! For all that I'm supposed to have sympathy for Szayel for being punished for abandoning his post (albeit for a good reason), I have even more horrified sympathy for Gin for being punished that way for letting someone's tea cup run dry. Methinks this 'god' needs to have his godly bell rung, and rung in a gory, and fatal manner. When one being has that much arrogance and self-pride (hubris) the fall should be long, and full of sharp, deadly objects.
Oh, and...is poor, widdle Karin finally seeing all of the dirty, bloody underbelly of Aizen's Soul Society? Awwww...poor widdle thing! How will she ever deal with it?! Nope, no sympathy for her either. My sympathy is for Byakuya, and Renji, and Yumichika, and Soi Fon, and Toushiro, and Rangiku, and Gin. But I have no sympathy for Karin...she chose her bed, literally, and now she's going to have to lie in it.

I think Szayel suffered enough. Hopefully I'll never see him being punished like that again or worse. What I really want to know though is more about Renji. Will he always be a soulless doll?

Congrats on the milestone in writing.

Hmmm ... Guess Grimmjow and Karin reinforced their claims at the end. Think Ajuga will have lots of explaining to do to mama, daddy, all her 'aunts and uncles' (as she calls them) ... and Szayel (when he gets back from his 'visit' with an unhappy Aisen). Hopefully Aisen goes easy on him if Szayel gets to explain that he was preventing harm from befalling Ajuga since Aisen had ordered that she not be harmed AND he had been informed moments before the attack that Ajuga had gone missing. Ajuga appears to be important to Aisen even though she isn't his. I'm sure Karin was given a bracelet tracker along with the bracelet at the baby shower but it could have been broken, batteries dead, or just plain lost because of disuse over the past two or so years. To be honest I think Ajuga adores Szayel and might attack Aisen if she finds out he has hurt (tortured) HER beloved Szay-chan. (laughing histerically at the image of Aisen frantically trying to remove a furious Ajuga hat ~ her claws extended and digging in). I'm betting a smaller bug or two were sent as bait/recon and Ajuga managed to stalk it/them instead of cleaning her room. Guess that is one little girl that will be given supervised laundry duty soon. On the positive side we now know that in a pinch Ajuga can defend herself to some degree if attacked by the bugs. I wonder if Ichigo is the tainted one or if it is Ajuga that is tainted since one has a hollow half and the other is half hollow. It is obvious that Yuzu should be pure as well (her power may just manifest differently ~ Szayel never had any reason to test her blood before she left) since that gene should be dominant from what I can tell ... Don't know what human gene it would pair with unless there is one that has something to do with untapped Psychic potential since Yuzu did see the spirit cat early in the series. Of course if she is being hidden away the bugs may be unaware of Yuzu's existence.

As for the power source ... Hmmmm ... I'm assuming that at some point in history Soul Society and Hueco Mundo had equal riatsu levels. Since electronics of some sort appear to have existed back before Urahara was banished the conversion of something to electricity had to be discovered (can't make or destroy energy/matter - fundamental law of physics). My guess is that an ancient member of squad 12 designed a way to continually condense a measured portion of the atmospheric riatsu into a denser fluid-like substance and it is kept in a containment area (think of an enclosure like Lake Meade) then the fluid is allowed to flow through a huge generator (think Hoover Dam) after which the riatsu evaporates back into the air only to eventually be recondensed later. This device would be in a well guarded part of squad 12 and the condensation stations could be small and scattered throughout Soul Society with underground 'pipes' to take the slowly condensed riatsu to the containment area. The collection devices (riatsu traps ~ like the water traps in the Dune series) would be required to blend in with the surrounding area due to aesthetics and ancient royal decree. The pipes, containment area(s), and generator(s) would have to be out of public sight as well to preserve the public aesthetics. This would also explain why Soul Society currently has a lower riatsu level than Hueco Mundo which does not have as high a level of electricity available for use.

Hope Szayel doesn't get tortured too bad. At least it won't be as humiliating for him as being spanked by Karin was. I wonder if Karin will feel any of his torture through the claim since other feelings are transmitted through the claims. Does Grimmjow know that Karin has claimed Szayel or does Grimmjow simply think Karin is so kick-ass and Szayel (in his weakened form) is such a wimp that she is able to spank him? I don't remember for sure that he was ever told.
