@Chapter 9: While the initial premise would make me think that this would be super depressing, the morality of the story is much more clever and complex than I would have expected. First, I like the fact that you didn't sugarcoat Ulquiorra and Orihime' relationship. His lack understanding of his own feelings drive him to do bad things, and only later does he realize he's doing the exact opposite of what he really wants. So when he finally opens up to Orihime about the two of them, he accepts that he's f***ed things up. Still, I'm rooting for them...

Secondly, I'm really surprised at how well you depicted Grimmjaw and Karin's relationship. It's believable, when seen in the context of this twisted alternate reality. I also like how you portray Grimmjaw- you keep him in character, while still allowing him room to grow. I'm looking forward to seeing how this develops- especially with Grimmjaw getting more and more attached to her. Before I get to the final point, I have to admit to my squeamishness about yaoi- as a guy, it's simply not my taste. That being said, I still found the whole dynamic between Starrk and Ukitake to be shockingly interesting and very telling of the world you've created. (Not sure if I'd call Ukitaki "elderly", aside from his prematurely white hair.)

This really is a story about people doing their best in a bad situation. So far, the Arrancar we've seen aren't really villains, rather they're victims of their own instincts and desires. In a sense, they're not that different from their prisoners. All they can really do is play their part in a system they have no control over. I look forward to reading more.

Really good story, definately going to go for the sequel. I'm guessing one of the missing pairings is actually Ggio and Soi Fon? I know they are Claim partners, but Ggio's sudden interest in Human Relationship Rituals and it being a former 2nd Squad member is pretty much hinting that he wants some solace from his own Claim. My only complaint was just how rare anything came up for Harribel and Hitsugaya in comparison to everyone else, everybody else got some time (some more than others), but I think there was only 2 significant scenes for these two. That and Soi Fon, who was pretty much shunted in all details. I'm hoping these two get balanced out a bit more for the sequel.

Hahaha, Szayel does love his little half truths and forgotten information. He announced he had been Claimed by Jaegerjaquez to Aizen, which was a truth as Karin was Grimmjows mate, thus automatically had that surname, just let Aizen make the little leap in logic, and said Karin and Hana had almost identical DNA, again another truth but just not saying that Karin had the Royal Gene as well XP

Been meaning to review this for ages but got swept up reading, awesome story so long as I skip all the Yaoi stuff (as I happen to be one of the so called 2% of males on this site, courtasy of being a follower of The Lemon Sage XP). But one thing that has confused me, why didn't Aizen go after Kuukaku Shiba? She's a considerably powerful entity even if not anywhere near the level of Unohana, and according to your plot she counts closer to Royal Family than Unohana as being one of the Shiba Clan, they were regarded as one of the FIVE Noble Clans. Even if you have cut the direct relations (that Isshin is a Shiba in canon, thus meaning Kuukaku is a Royal Family descendant according to your story), just the fact that the Shiba clan were one of the Noble Clans means I would see Aizen tracking her down first, as at her strength she would never be a real risk to him and has a more direct part of the bloodline.

Six days, one hundred seven chapters, and lots of roller-caosted emotions later, I am very impressed with this. I originally clicked on it after doing a keyword search for stories about Orihime and Ulquiorra. After reading this, I agree with you that Grimmjow/Karin is a very interesting pariing.

In fact, you made a lot of unorthodox pairings actually work out, like Tesra/Tatsuki and Toushiro/Hallibel.

This has been a very awesome story and I can't wait to get into the next one. :)

oh my goodness this story has put me through the motions! I have been reading this faithfully for like a week and a half! You got everyone wonderfully in character, even if you did torment my favorite, Byakuya, for the entire story. :( I don't know if you noticed, but your writing also improved tremendously throughout the fic. It was really interesting to see that progress while I was reading. I can't wait to start reading the second part tomorrow, cause I need to go to bed now!

P.S. you did a great job with your OC's. None of them were god-modded Mary Sue's/Gary Stu's and I know that's hard to do when you're creating a character, because you can see them in your head and they're awesome there. All in all, wonderful job, you are now one of my favorite Bleach writers, you have given me so many feels, and I can't wait to read more from you! :)

I thoroughly enjoyed this depiction of events. Officially my favorite by far, in fact I had taken a three year break from reading any fan fiction and now I am beating myself up for not finding this sooner.

"Amazing" seems kind of shallow, but I can't really describe how well you wrote this. It ran through about every emotion you can think and made sure they were all felt.

Okay, I'm rereading this since I saw PoV2 is out and have started that. Figured I'd read the fully dark version in case there is anything I might have missed as a result and I saw the Questions at the bottom. This is one I simply must review to. I see Yammy getting suffocated by that damn scarf of Byakuya's. It just seems appropriate as he's taken pretty much everything that meant anything from Byakuya, but especially that scarf and his Keniseken (probably spelled that wrong XD)wouldn't hurt for Renji to be in on it too with what Yammy made happen. I think Szyazel has suffered enough in the fic >.< just want to give him a hug.

I read you entire story over the course of a day and despite not doing anything productive I regret nothing. I didn't post on any of the chapters mainly because I'm terrible at reviewing, but after reading the entire story I decided I owed it to you. All I really want to say is how amazing I thought it was. Despite the fact that I wish some characters (Yammy especially) had been killed by now I realize they are important to the story and will die in due time. I liked all of your pairings and I can't wait to read part 2. Sorry, I'm bad at reviewing.

I definitely think you should write the second part! I for one can't wait to see what happens with the kids and Karin and aizen! I really like this story and I wanted to read it all before reviewing, but I just want you to know that there are still people who are reading this and part 2 should def be written! :)

i just want to say that your story is awesome and one of my favorite stories to read i checked every day for an update i love how well you paired every one off and Karin and Grimmjow are my favorite couple. im so hoping that in the next part that you have Karin kicking Aizens ass in to the next life and finally taking her rightful spot as the true ruler. needles to say i cant wait for the first chapter of the next part so until then ill have to settle for rereading this part till that happens and good luck writing it im sure is will be just as great as the first.

Prize of Victory is a wonderful story. I just finished reading it. I wouldn't have imagined some of the pairings, but you made them work out really well. I can't wait for part 2. :)

I just finished reading, I started reading earlier this week and thanks to a couple a bit too late nights I am done and all I want is more! It's so engaging and I have loved reading it all, even the horrid parts.
It's a wonderful piece and I am very thankful for that one lovely fan art that got me to your story.
    Thanks for writing this.
