First off: *hugs you* How are you love? Sent you a couple emails, did you get them?

I knew I was going to love this chapter the instant I read this: It was Grimmjow or at least Jyuushiro assumed it was the Arrancar. The creature looming in the courtyard bore only the faintest of resemblances to the former Espada. A fall of blue hair cascaded down his back like a mane, the color the only thing to link it to Grimmjow.

At some point they had both gone and fallen in love with this foolish kitten. And who wouldn't? For such smart men, it took them forever to figure out how they felt.

"Now we just have to break the news about getting a kitty to Nanao," chuckled Shunsui. LMAO! Oh Shunsui.

AUUUUGGGGHHHH! I can't beleive you left off there...I have been waiting forever to see these three get together! I'm really hoping and begging that you give us a lemon for these three on the next update. Please! Anyway. I was very happy to see that you'd updated. I look forward to this story so much. You are very talented, and it's a real pleasure to be able to read your work! Thanks for all your hard work.

I love your portrayal of these three in this story. Other than the main pairing of Kisuke and Ichigo, these are the three i love reading about the most in this story. Thanks alot of the update. Happy Writing.

This is the first time leaving a review for you. I find I usually don't have the eloquence to convey exactly what I want to say, especially when it's for one of the best things I've ever read. So I bring you a gift to seduce your muse with, an offering to stimulate your creative processes when you're getting so close to the end and it feels a little harder to get out on the page. I understand that part, I am in the process of writing an epic and the just the storymapping is difficult at times. :) I offer you themes on your pairings and a theme that I feel encompasses the way I feel when I read this story.

A Shadow of What Was: Musical Themes

Kisuke/Ichigo: I have two songs in mind. Both these songs fit in both feeling and lyric.

'This Never Happened Before' Paul MacCartney

Renji/Ishida: This is a personal favorite of mine and I find it fits them. For me, anyway...Hope you agree.
'Crash Into Me' Dave Matthews Band

Byakuya/Ulquiorra: This song is more of a feeling than a literal interpretation.
'#1 Crush' Garbage

Toushiro/Karin: Both of them are analytical and beautiful. This song is too.

Ryuuken/Rukia: This fits both lyrically and feeling.
'Simply Being Loved: Somnambulist' BT

Shunsui/Grimmjow/Jushiro: I heard this last nite and it made me think of them.
'High Enough' Damn Yankees

Overall Theme: This piece emcompasses life to me. Much like your story, it builds and compounds until there is a breaking point. Then it blows into a beautiful chaos.

You have another new reader! I have read "epics" before but have become wary of longer unfinished fics in case they're abandoned. But I read and loved your other stories and was intrigued by this one so finally gave in. Just please keep your promise to not abandon it! I'm hooked now! I didn't read it in one sitting - I read it in two. XD I know it should be taken in moderation, and I tried, but it's like having a good book, getting sucked into the story and unable to put it down. Which is why I prefer finished fics, then I can read it all at once, but now I've caught up I'll content myself with looking forward eagerly to updates.

Grimmjow and the way he is with Kisuke in this is adorable, I hope Shunsui and Jyuushiro are able to remain unscathed long enough when he finds them for him to figure out what they want and accept it. He deserves some love! And you actually made me like Ichimaru in this! Normally I just find him creepy. But now you've got me hoping he can somehow be redeemed as well, and perhaps even somehow end up with Kira and Matsumoto (though I don't know if that would be too much to hope for . . .)

Loving all the pairings in this, I'm an unusual pairings fan myself so this fic is all kinds of fun, even the het pairings are wonderful. And now the Vaizard have been thrown into the mix! Will we see more of them or are there enough characters and pairings rolling around in this beast already?

Looking forward to more, whatever happens! *Offers your muse cookies and some nice furry handcuffs to go with the whip* ^__^

*grins* I love subtext, because it's such a truly powerful tool, especially when used well, and I adore how you use it.

And they were going to push back. Ichigo might have been one of the strongest men in Soul Society, but he had nothing on the two of them when it came to sheer stubbornness. *snerk* Poor Ichi.

Karin had never heard of a voice laced with reiatsu before, never heard of anyone infusing their words with power. In fact, she wouldn't have thought it possible if she hadn't heard and felt it for herself. Holy fucking hell! the Kurosaki clan is going to end up being granted noble status in Soul Society for their sheer fucking strength! *gawks at Yuzu some more*

*giggles her ass off over the phone call and Ishida's smug announcement before he handed over the phone* OMG, I love those boys. *happy sigh* Ichi is beginning to heal, the relationship between him and Kisuke is beginning to get on track, Bya and Ulqui are good. *another happy sigh* I have mentioned how much I adore you right?

Ignore that, I just like being able to use hem and haw. Kisuke sounds so much better, and you make me feel so bad for Ichigo. I like what you did with Yuzu's voice; it's so fitting!

It was wonderful to see Ichigo get a reprieve from his emotional torture. I'm glad Kisuke's giving him a chance and seems to want more too. Yay! I loved this chapter...and I love this fic. I hope to see another update soon!

i praise the yaoi gods for stories like yours. this story is an example of why i cannot give up my fan fiction addiction ... your story is incredible and i was glued to my pc for 2 days straight. i cant even begin to count the number of fangirl squeals that have escaped my lips since starting this yesterday. the story is so well thought out and the pairings are awesome (some unexpected but still awesome!) i especially look forward to more about grim. he is by far my favorite bleach character. i also look forward to seeing if there will be a happy ending for gin *huggles gin crying for him.* and lastly your omake at the end of 17 was amazing! i laughed so hard it hurt. great job and thank you for sharing you wonderful story.

Wow. I love the hint of darkness, the base and primal power of instinct. I think sometimes it's easy to forget that the Espeda were evolved from animal type hollows primarily, because they look and act human. It's easy to remember with Grimkitty, but not so much with Ulqui, so thank you for the very subtle, very sexy reminder.

Ulquiorra stared at him curiously for a moment, not able to understand what the emotion was at first, and then hardly able to believe it. No one had ever wanted to protect him before. The idea that this beautiful, powerful man wanted to was both startling and intoxicating. Aw sweetness... why do you think he was so upset about what was done to you - and to Grimmkitty, but you especially - in Las Noches?

This was his and he would protect it. He would kill any who thought to harm the noble. A tiny smile split Ulquiorra's lips as a single, softly purred word broke the silence -

"Mine."

Wow. I'm breathless. That might as well have been 'mate'. *deep recomposing sigh* Gorgeous.

/hug happy you made it through all of the things going on in your life. Give the Muse a /hug too for getting back to the story. Love how you have these 2 acting and re-acting. Can't wait to see what you have in mind for the phone call Ichigo gets from Kisuke; that either way, want to see how the react to each other. No matter which couple you have in the chapter, your writing is VERY good and great at keeping up with so many at that. Thanks for all you have done and hope you keep it up. Thanks for sharing with all of us :)

Thank you for updating!! I was worried something had happened and I am glad to hear all is relatively well. A suggestion for post op knee surgery: Ice the area just above your knee daily with a rubber ice pack and wash it after each use. It helps reduce potential swelling and lessens the pain a bit. This chapter was well written but I really don't like Byakuya/Ulquiorra pairings. Its just my preference and in all honesty I didn't like Urahara/Ichigo until I started reading this. Who knows, maybe I'll come to like them later on like I did with Ura/Ichi. Thank you for sharing your talent!!
